I feel like this has more to do with aspects/houses than actual signs. I do believe ppl with strong Pisces/12th house/Neptune placements are more likely to commit suicide. More so than other signs.
A lot of ppl with strong 12th houses suffer from mental illness. So squares and or oppositions to 12th house planets, or even the planet that rules their 12th house could show inclination to suicide.
Neptune is the planet of illusions and escapism. If a Neptunian person suffers enough with themselves they feel there is no way out, no escape from themselves. And since you can’t run from yourself the only way out is.. well you know.
There are also a lot of Virgos and Cancer moons who commit suicide. But in general I think Cancer energy may consider it a selfish act or they will think more about the affect it will have on those they leave behind.
Virgos are very realistic and down to earth but they are still mutable and the least stable out of the other earth signs. And being how critical and overthinking they may be, they can also tend to be very hard on themselves. Although I believe a Virgo we need more in their chart to indicate that, like 12th house and water placements.

i believe suicide has most to do with the sun sign.
for example look at this athlete chart. which sun sign is most likely to be a player
the inclination is so small that it makes you doubt the sun influence even matters. it's like difference of 1 or 2% .
this concludes that what a person does for their career almost has nothing to do with their sun sign.
HOWEVER,
When you can see that Virgo is 3X more likely to commit sui than Aqua. Then you see true inclination. not 20% or 10% . 300% ! that is huge.
I do think people who threaten suicide are askiing for help or attention. All the people I know who have really wanted to commit suicide did it and no one had a clue. They just don't tell people because they don't want to be stopped.

I've been to a friends funeral after he hung himself when we were all working together overseas, it was the end of our time there. Open casket, they didn't put make up on him or any of that shit we do here in the west, they left a big open stitched up autopsy scar showing for us to see. And the back around his eyes and the burst veins in his face and the look on his face looked like he was still in there and it was hell for him, that's the closest thing I've seen to hell on earth. I'm pretty angry at him still, for how long it messed me up and probably others, and because he did it there where it could effect all of us and we would have to go to his funeral, he had closer friends living in a flat with him too and I wonder how they are. And his parents were on the other side of the world from him when it happened, he didn't even want to go home to do it. Maybe he had big problems at home that he didn't want to go back to. He was 18 or 19 so I'm angry at him for not giving himself the opportunity to grow up and get through whatever he was dealing with.
My husbands friend committed suicide by gun and when we viewed the body at the funeral his head was so swollen it was damn near hanging over the edge of the casket. Just horrible to look at. He was a drop dead gorgeous man. It was so sad.

I just like to quickly chime in and say don Cornelius (a libra and a dj, radio personality and long time host soul train) commited suicide. He was well loved in the public figure though im not sure he was loved in his life outside of television. He was an abuser who used to abuse his fiance physically. He had a rough life doing drugs alcohol and lord knows whatever else. I grew up watching soul train until they made a drastic turn towards playing hip hop when the late 80s and 90s came around.
Chris Benoit (a Gemini and pro wrestler) committed suicide and also murdered his family. I see Gemini not on the list.
Well quite actually there's really not much for me to discuss here. All I know and can say it's just sad all the way around when people take their own life. It's the cowardly way out.

I admire aquarius people's ability to detach. They simply don't care. They accept their truth and that's it.

Lots of major cities in the mainland also have big South Asian communities. They’re taking up most of the tech industry jobs so lotsa moolah to spend. Maybe a nice ranch/farmhouse style home in the countryside for ya yeah?

I expected Scorpio to be in the middle actually, its the sign most linked with death so I thought there would be an equal amount of Scorpios who just accepted things and didn't feel the need to take themselves out as those who couldn't hack it anymore.

So you're findings indirectly show that Virgo, Scorpio and Sagittarius are least likely to be able to take control of themselves.

As a Leo sun with Scorpio moon there were a few times in my late 20s I'd get extremely intoxicated. Eventually I'd end up putting a gun to my head and freaking tf out because I wanted the thoughts to just stop. I know people will think "Oh, Soul being edgy." But I didn't do it for attention. No one was even around. I was always completely alone. I've never even spoke about it till now. I will say the gun was never loaded. Though a few times I did load the gun, and just stare at it. Like stuck in the middle of wanting to live and die. Like I didn't want to die, but didn't want to live feeling like shit anymore.
I feel both Leo and Scorpio energy tend to find it hard to recover from multiple heavy hits from life in a row. These could happen all at once, or over the course of years. Both are also prone to alcohol as quick relief or escape, which I feel is likely why they do it in most cases. I've never wanted to truly die sober.
I think most importantly out of majority of the signs, Leo and Scorpio are the two that need someone to talk to, or a professional therapist the most. Yet neither will ever seek one out because both have too much pride, ego, and view that as showing weakness. Both think they can deal with it on their own without asking for help, but it couldn't be farther from the truth. We all know where bottling up problems and emotions gets a person. Flashback to me in my late 20s.

even in written accounts of historical figures. sometimes they'd even leave letters. i think the emotional inclination of the sign is greatly underestimated, constantly accused of coming off cold/detached.

People care about Kurt Cobain because he was one of biggest musicians in the 90s, of course people cared more. If DiCaprio killed himself in the 90s after Titanic everyone would care. Scorpios don't kill themselves when they are a big deal, because they are a big deal and that's enough to sustain our massive egos through anything.
You don't see Scorpios being famous and not having their shit together either, if a Scorpio is going to e famous they have to be on top of their bullshit or it will drag them down. Scorpios not on top of it don't even get close to success. Some signs like Pisces can ride their bullshit like a wave to success, they're cleaver like that. But it all comes crashing down on them. I don't know about Virgos, they're probably completely neurotic just to get to that point of fame anyway.

I've been to a friends funeral after he hung himself when we were all working together overseas, it was the end of our time there. Open casket, they didn't put make up on him or any of that shit we do here in the west, they left a big open stitched up autopsy scar showing for us to see. And the back around his eyes and the burst veins in his face and the look on his face looked like he was still in there and it was hell for him, that's the closest thing I've seen to hell on earth. I'm pretty angry at him still, for how long it messed me up and probably others, and because he did it there where it could effect all of us and we would have to go to his funeral, he had closer friends living in a flat with him too and I wonder how they are. And his parents were on the other side of the world from him when it happened, he didn't even want to go home to do it. Maybe he had big problems at home that he didn't want to go back to. He was 18 or 19 so I'm angry at him for not giving himself the opportunity to grow up and get through whatever he was dealing with.
My husbands friend committed suicide by gun and when we viewed the body at the funeral his head was so swollen it was damn near hanging over the edge of the casket. Just horrible to look at. He was a drop dead gorgeous man. It was so sad.

you can't take the traditional meaning of "masculine" vs "feminine" in astrology literally. the ancients literally meant POSITVE AND NEGATIVE.
Earth signs are definitely more masculine in nature than air signs. Earth people do. Air people talk. Doing and action = masculine. gossip for hours = feminine

As a Leo sun with Scorpio moon there were a few times in my late 20s I'd get extremely intoxicated. Eventually I'd end up putting a gun to my head and freaking tf out because I wanted the thoughts to just stop. I know people will think "Oh, Soul being edgy." But I didn't do it for attention. No one was even around. I was always completely alone. I've never even spoke about it till now. I will say the gun was never loaded. Though a few times I did load the gun, and just stare at it. Like stuck in the middle of wanting to live and die. Like I didn't want to die, but didn't want to live feeling like shit anymore.
I feel both Leo and Scorpio energy tend to find it hard to recover from multiple heavy hits from life in a row. These could happen all at once, or over the course of years. Both are also prone to alcohol as quick relief or escape, which I feel is likely why they do it in most cases. I've never wanted to truly die sober.
I think most importantly out of majority of the signs, Leo and Scorpio are the two that need someone to talk to, or a professional therapist the most. Yet neither will ever seek one out because both have too much pride, ego, and view that as showing weakness. Both think they can deal with it on their own without asking for help, but it couldn't be farther from the truth. We all know where bottling up problems and emotions gets a person. Flashback to me in my late 20s.

I've been much better recently. Business for me has been extremely well, and the tile trade is exploding. Mostly because there isn't anyone with the skill or time, so we pretty much have a non stop flow of jobs, and can name any price. People are willing to pay it too. Tile work for me is extremely good for my health, and actually somewhat of an escape from things. I also gain a sense of pride when people comment on how much they love the end results.
I've never had a problem with weed tbh. I do smoke on occasion, but me smoking is like one hit for a mild buzz. My main problem has always been alcohol. I didn't drink to escape at first. Originally I used to drink to gain inspiration, and feel more connected to things. Over time as my tolerance got higher and higher. Eventually everything flopped, and I was simply drinking to stop feeling sick from drinking. Then drinking to escape from the reality of my life. That's why it's such a destructive substance, at least for someone like me.

I checked Suicide + Vocation (Military + Politics) and there are 62 charts. I don't think there is a way to filter them out but is a small pool (from a total of 768 or so).
