Queen died lol. They have a King now. IIRC the Royal Family is pretty irrelevant in the UK except as a figurehead, I THINK the President is a little more involved? UK People can feel free to correct. We do have enemies, but a ton of warfare at this point is through proxy wars or digital attacks (from foreign entities). Extremist Nationalists/White Supremacists are probably the greatest domestic threat. Numerous times they've tried to attack power stations in different states trying to accelerate a race war. I kinda think the low spending thing is a farce. You spend money to make money, ensure safety and efficiency, things like that. Not saying that it doesn't have to be spent diligently, it does.

Bernie Sanders is definitely the most far left. Harris well my impression of her has been that she’s progressive too, but right of Bernie. That comes from when she ran from president. I think she is trying, but they always say things when running for President and then do things they really want while President. So what are you really going to do Kamala? Okay I’ll admit I’ve not been doing a lot but of research. I really like how she would want to protect women & children, and gay rights. I have a daughter & brother who are gay & that’s a concern. Also the things are happening with women’s health issues are scary. As for the dollars, yes a certain amount needs to be spent to run a government. My concern comes in when we start talking about things like healthcare across the board, childcare for single working mothers, a paying off student loans, etc. we have to look at how much programs cost so we don’t have a problem with the economy. There are so many more progressives who want handouts and not to have to earn things. I say this because this is why Bernie Sanders was so popular and I personally know lots of people who feel this way. Kamala Harris I just have a bad instinct of what she will REALLY do as President.
So Covid screwed up a lot of things. Housing went through the roof. Inflation & support payments to keep the country afloat, unemployment which was excessive. So many people didn’t work well cuz they made more on unemployment. So of course after this , we have to recover & that takes time. Personally I think inflation was partially due to Trump policies. When you look at economics, you can’t let an economy grow too fast or we have inflation. So they had to slow it down with interest rates. Well anyway, it’s concerning about what either side will do at this point. So we have houses that are way too expensive to buy, how are people actually affording this? I know I can’t sell my townhouse & buy a house at this point without going into a ton of debt that I can’t pay since I’m too close to retirement. Inflation, homelessness
High housing & rents are major issues. Giving little tax credits, or amount of money is not going to help. It is a much bigger problem. Throwing money around is not necessarily the answer but I’m not sure what is.
If you have ideas, I’m more than happy to listen to them. So answer please. I have to work today on tax returns. The deadline is coming soon. So may not be back for awhile.

So the other thing I want to say is a LOT of small business owners are for Trump. It’s really just about the economy for them. I know many. Unfortunately they don’t care about who he is or what he has done, only that they might not be able to survive from Democrat policies. People think 'far left' because they moved the goal posts. Bernie would be center in Europe. What's funny about the dumb Republicans is that for the all the Marxist talk, the Clinton-Obama-Biden contingent are what Republicans were in the 80's. Agree on Thatcher. She was also reviled and ridiculed in her day, often from the same types that reviled and ridiculed Reagan.
In the case of Reagan: that ridicule looked puerile with one single moment imho--when Gorbachev paid his respects at Reagan's funeral.
