Aquarius male sending me mixed signals! I can't understand him! Help

So I met this man at a a party about 10 days ago randomly. He started asking me questions about myself and even asked for my number. He complimented my eyes, dress, and everything about me. After that, I told him I was going to go the bathroom (I wanted to cut it short so that he could think about me for the rest of the night) and told him that it was nice meeting him.

I'm always the girl that gets attention from guys. I have big blue eyes, long black hair, a good head on my shoulders (studying to be a doctor), I was prom queen, graduated at the top of my class, and I am super kind and can hold a conversation for hours!

We started texting for about 10 days and he told me had fallen in love with my character, he started calling me baby, honey, and would even say things like: imagine waking up next to each other every morning and how I'm the type of girl he would bring to meet his family. He told me that he wanted to visit me as soon as possible. Keep in mind, I live five hours away from him.

So we scheduled to meet up yesterday and go out to dinner. He ended up coming exactly as he promised and I managed to get dressed up in a cute fall outfit. I have really strict parents so he had to meet my father before taking me out because she was worried something might happen. Since he drove all the way to my house, I decided to drive the two of us to our reservation. While there, he did not seem interested. He was looking at the TV most of the time and not asking me many questions. He asked for the check fairly quickly and recommended we go get some dessert at to "kill time." We ended up getting dessert and he told me that he wanted to leave after that. So, he drove four hours to see me and only spent two with me. I was so shocked but I did not want to show him I was upset. I agreed and drove back to my home upon where he texted me that my family is cute and he will let me know when he gets home.

That night, he texted me around 11 pm saying that he forgot to text me that he got home. I did not reply. The next morning I texted him and told him I was confused about the whole situation. Did he feel something? Did he not? Upon which he replied:



"I want to be just friends because of the distance. But maybe later on things can get serious with us. I see myself getting serious with you but I want to be friends first and not rush things. We can talk and hang out once in a while and if we decide that we can go seriously from there it will be easier because we will already know each other that much more."



This man just contradicted himself! First he said he wants to be friends because of the distance and then he's saying that he could see himself seriously with me and wants to see where things take us?

I'm so confused. Is he interested or not? Someone please help me. My gut feeling is telling me that he's just trying to let me down easily to avoid my feelings getting hurt. But then I read things about how Aquarius men (which he is) are all about friendships and that they like to take things very slow and start off as friends.

I don't plan on replying to him because I am so confused and do not know what to say at this point. I need advice!!
