I'm not sure if I love it but I do cook. I love experimenting & trying out new dishes from cookbooks, magazines, etc. And of course, I cant do anything without adding a few personal touches & twists.

I love hot & spicy food like curries & briyanis. I think maybe I was an Indian in another life because I love Indian food. I can make rotis, chapatis & parathas like an experienced, Indian housewife lol. I prefer to listen to Indian music as well while in the kitchen to get the vibe right lol.

Btw I just had daal & rice for lunch. Simple daal with onions, chillies, spices & I fattened it up with pure ghee. Delicioso.

I love german!! I love knodell and potato rostis!! and I got my dad hooked on sauerkraut he didn't like it at first so I put it in his salad lol so now he eats it as it is its very good for ya??_

I love to cook. To experiment. Try out new things. I love feeding people, especially family & my husband, which is why cookouts are def. my thing!

Sometimes I even take pictures of something that turned out beautiful, make them into collages & scrap book them =)

I love the mood cooking puts me in. It's time consuming of course, but so are most hobbies. I turn on some music, get in my zone & stay there until breakfast/lunch/dinner is ready =)

I can't waste food either! I can cook and I enjoy it, but do not go all out that often as it is just me. But holidays when there are more around it's on.

I have become more health conscious so paying more attention to the stuff I do make.

so you end up burning stuff? or just forget to turn it off when done? I have left my oven on for a few hours before when I was done baking something. I'm super paranoid now after that- it's a gas oven and could have caught my house on fire.

I cooked a barbecue chicken pizza yesterday. No, not the frozen kind. I had flatbreads, then I cooked the chicken, added the sauce and cheese, and baked it together. Like a real chef.

But I am starting to get into cooking as I just changed careers and am working at a restaurant, I enjoy watching the chefs prepare the food and I try to learn as much as I can from them to better cook at home.

one of my favourite shows to watch is iron chef I would do anything to be a judge on that show.

I love cooking shows as well, Top Chef being one of my favourites.

Talking about cake decorating... I watch a lot of shows about that on TLC, I even went as far as purchasing my very own set of those piping things they use. I still havent used them & that was more than a year ago. I get excited about a new hobby but I never follow through, sadly 😒

Lasagna is the Bomb diggity! Thing is it's soooooo fatting 😒 need to find a lighter version and make it! Heck my favorite food is Italian which goes right to the ass and hips! LOL

This thread makes me so hungry when I read it!! But after thinking about stuff I haven't made in a long time- I am going to make my chicken enchiladas tomorrow! they are yummy! You use green sauce instead of read! So much smoother with chicken.

@Msmurray congrats on the new job- enjoy it and learn all you can!

I love cooking shows too, Top Chef, Cook your ass off, etc

I love using egg plant instead of pasta sheets, and instead of meat I saut? mushrooms, onion, capsicum, garlic, chilli, fresh basil and a shitload of spinach and then add a can of diced tomatoes and ricotta and just layer the eggplant with the mix and add low fat cheese??_.you could also preheat the oven and put your tray in with slices of pumpkin or sweet potato on the bottom so its cooked then put it on top ??_I also like putting bread crumbs on top just to play with the texture

Oh and i forgot to add that my secret ingredient in everything I cook is fish sauce, its similar to using anchovy past because fish sauce is made from anchovies??_I would add that to the Bolognese and a table spoon of brown sugar to cut the acidity of the tomatoes and bring out the flavour

No need to work around mine. I can make time.

Post it up, I'll be the sucker and make.

Ok so when's supper? πŸ˜›

It's very yummy!! You will enjoy it πŸ˜‰

??2 teaspoons olive oil
??2 teaspoons minced garlic
??2 cups Mexican salsa verde ( green salsa can make or buy, I buy it lol)
??1/2 cup sour cream
??2 cups shredded cooked chicken (you can do cut up chicken but shredded soaks up sauce better)
??1/2 cup shredded cheddar or Monterey jack cheese
??1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro- not required if you prefer not to use it
??6 six-inch flour tortillas (or wheat works too)

cook the chicken, shred or cut into bite size pieces set aside for now
sauce: over medium heat in a large skillet- heat garlic in olive oil for about 30 seconds or so, add salsa verde, add sour cream- set aside a cup of this sauce (used on top after tortillas wrapped), add the chicken and 1/2 cheese (1/2 cilantro if using). mix well πŸ™‚

Add a few teaspoons of mix per tortilla, roll up, place in 9x9 baking pan, once all in pan, pour extra sauce over top add cheese to liking. I also add some of the sauce to the bottom of the pan before putting the tortillas in, so they are surrounded.

Bake at 350 for 20 minutes..

done πŸ™‚

I don't tend to cook with onions but you can add onion with the garlic as well.

Going to the grocery store this weekend.

I' going make two different sauces. The one above and another like above except use homemade ranch dressing instead of the sourcream.

Do you boil the chicken or boil it until half done and then fry it or bake it or just fry it?

soo how did this turn out? πŸ˜›

It is my main education and I love to cook but have gotten very lazy with age and I have also changed my diet quiet a bit. No more creamy pastas or rich, slow simmered stews pour moi. I mostly eat fish and veggies nowadays and that's boring as all he11 to cook!
