Help me solve this Aqua?!?!

Known an aqua male for 10 yrs but recently this year he was on a mission and VERY persistent to get to know me. We text everyday. He was flirtatious and wanted to be physical but he didn't get anything. He took months to come over a few times and then months to start calling (at first he would find excuses to call but now he calls every 2 or 3 days just to talk for an hour or two without any excuse). We still have not been physical at all. We still text everyday. He tells me everything. Sometimes he holds back if he is down but I can sense when something is off. He calls every 2 or 3 days and we will talk for an hour or two everytime he calls. We have literally become very close friends. He needs to talk everyday or I will get "where u hiding" msgs. I can't tell if he's interested. On the phone one day he named a guy and said "Thats what I think your type would be". Then when I was talking about a different guy we both know I said "he's so nice" he made fun of me and was like "ur like he's so cute". I was like LOL what?! I didn't even say anything about his physical appearance.

Just when I think all the signs point to he might feel something today he saw a pic of a group of my friends of mine and he said one of the girls looked cute. And she "looks like a bad b". Is he trying to get a reaction out of me? Or does he not like me in that way?

And that means...? Lol

I just felt telling me the girl in my pic is cute was wtf. It threw me off.
