Does Learning Increase or Decrease Understanding?

Learning generally expands knowledge but can also highlight complexities that make understanding seem deeper. It depends on how knowledge is integrated; continuous learning can deepen insight or reveal how much there is still to discover.

The more I learn the more I know.

However as far as real life goes..the more I experience, the more I understand. And by experience..my feelings have to be into it, no matter the experience.

Yeah that's probably more what I'm driving had, not retaining book knowledge, or something that can actually be achieved through rote learning but understanding human dynamics and all that jazz.

human dynamics, I need to experience them.

I am great at talking out of my ass but I realize I do it and I'm not taking myself seriously..ever.

Taking one's self seriously = death of knowledge/improvement

I'd say the more I know the less I love.

Want to elaborate tiz? Is this more along the lines of tainted experiences? A general cesspool that's attached with it all which breeds cynicism or plainly experiences that lead to some kind of desensitisation?

I think I just described my full circle.

damnata, i don't think, at least i hope, the OP didn't strictly refer to relationships or people...but to KNOWING [aqua thing πŸ™‚]

It makes sense, I'm just trying to decipher why some of us veer in different directions after these experiences. I'd want to say I'm selective but I'm really not because that whole idea is 'living' in the past and projecting it on to the future.

Even when I say that I don't even know if that's okay or not. To live by understanding our past lessons seems to me like carrying burden of sorts but to live carelessly with no expectation seems to kill the passion off a bit.

The more I know the more I understand with distinctions made within contexts..but then again, I don't fully understand how one can be incurious so I tend to pursue gaps in understanding/knowledge.

The-more-you-know-the-less-you-understand just comes with the realization that it's virtually impossible to integrate what you know into a unifying principle. That's why I think the most important thing to know is that which you do not..so when you do inevitably come into contact with it your approach will be more one of receptiveness.

are you a cancer? πŸ™‚

THIS! I may just be looking for answers or at least an understanding where none are found. I'm attributing associations with synapses firing off as we face similar situations with 'new' people. To me this is where things become confusing.

It's almost like I've learnt a lot, lessons I'm grateful for but never again to be applied in the exact manner. Then trying to compartmentalise everything to make sense of it and realising the vastness of the scope as if making whatever knowledge redundant.

@ aquasnoz, why in a hurry?
1. we are not GOD [a cristian would say]
2. it's not the destination which matters, but the journey [a chinese would say]
3. think of Faust...what did he finally want?[a wise person would say]

don't focus on KNOWING, focus on the process of it [which we name "self development"]

whatever...

Not even that.

Sorry, embracing my dark side as of late. Which is..the Venus in Cancer.

It's one of those things I've always contemplated as a kid. Call me an oddball but I really do fancy the idea of that unifying principle. It's hard to convey a particular thought process of mine without countering another because I also believe the journey itself is a vital part to understanding.

Which then just makes me question, if we actually do understand anything because by the time we do, our expiration date is up.

You know for a clinger to know what level they're at is downright impossible.

Since I dated a Venus in Aqua, let's say my clinging level is -3 or smthg.

It can be unified at times but it's mostly polarized on most occasions. They key is finding connections. If there's none, make one! I do believe if there's anyone capable of achieving that, it'd be an Aqua. πŸ˜„

things are so much intertwined, the topic here is so complex that we won't find the "key" now...or ever...that's the beauty of life+psychology+arts+science+religion+philosophy+feelings

let life unfold in front of you, admire it...and you won't know IT, but you'll know enough and no, you won't feel a dust in the cosmos...you'll feel YOU, that unique creation, that miracle you are...

The more you know the more you become aware of all the things you do not know.

I'll drink to that! 🍹 liking the vibe in here.

Do like the whole cosmic dust comparison. I think people tend to think of scientists void of emotions or without passion for life but we as cosmic dusts to me is a miracle. Of all that is out there that we all came to be is a pretty good starting point to wanting to understand it all.

I do admire those who can take it at face value for what it is, it's just not me, I ask questions, way too many apparently. Fondly remember that time being given a rubix cube and I disappeared off the face of the earth for a month trying to solve it.

for some odd reason, I think cancer and aqua venus would get along fine

I researched this actually for the same reason.

Venus in Cancer women work great with Venus in Aquarius men. It doesn't make sense to the world but for me it makes sense a lot.

The more I know the less I know...

And

Yet, it has the same affect of making more and more people seem increasingly ignorant and stupid. Which is the bad part :/

I have a hard time having patience with people who are ignorant by choice because they are too lazy to open their minds and yet have the audacity to think they know everything...

the more i know the less i care

Ya...at that point the world becomes one big experiment field where you use that knowledge to
poke and prod at people.
If at least ONE of your subjects acts out of the ordinary you will run back to your lab and see where you can re-hone your skills.
That itself is the most dangerous, vulnerable time in your life cuz way too many people don't get back from that.

not at all....i don't know what you understood...but clearly not what i meant...we'll talk 16 years from now on... πŸ™‚
