Moody Aqua Guy

As an aquarius, he's very funky and off-the-wall. Keeps me guessing, and I can tell he is definitely Aquarius.
However, maybe its because his moon is in Cancer, but he can be so so moody. I know that I am a Scorpio, but I am not smothering, I like to have my space and have my private time. But some days, if I don't call him, he'll be really upset about that.
Do I have to call him every day? I guess that's fine, but still, don't get mad if I don't.
Even though he can hate it when I get emotional (and I do, with a Scorp, and Pisces moon). He gets all emotional, and mostly moody.
I have never heard of an Aqua guy like this, what is the deal?

And sometimes, when I do something really nice for him, he'll (hopefully jokingly) say "will you marry me?"
or "If I move somewhere, will you come?"
We've only been seeing each other for a little over 3 months.
He's scaring me, I though Aquarius was different I guess.

he's insecure.

I think he has mother issues too, with abandonment. And now he takes it out on me, he's way way WAY too uptight, strict, and whiny. Self pity is okay, I can take a lot of it, but this is crazy.
Last night for example, he was emotionally controlling, then he'll be really mean to me, hypocritically I might add. Then in the morning, he's wonderful. So I completely forget about it.
Maybe I'm too sensitive? Or maybe he yells too much for little things. Are aquas like that too?

Hm, I should probably add in the bit about his friend, which there is a chemistry between us.
But I though Aqua's didn't get jelous?
I'm so frustrated and confused!
