I have no earth. I'm ok with this. 😄
Lol I am also okay with my lack of water for the most part. How do you feel a lack of earth affects you? Just asking because I am overly earth dominant.
Well, I've noticed that earth people are usually very concerned about what others think about them, and I've never had a big problem with what others think of me. Also, I'm not highly organized, even though I'm a perfectionist in some ways (especially when it comes to my art). I'm practical in some ways, but not the way that earth signs are. I don't really plan ahead, I'm a procrastinator, and I very much think outside the box.....way outside the box!....in fact, I'm a box breaker.
are you sure thats an earth sign thing? i find earth to be more CURIOUS about stuff, or more grounded.

but you are fire dominant though, with aries mars leo venus?

i see that earth is a planner, can make organizations, ect. build stuff.

i'm dominant earth/water. lack of air/fire. but i'm a 1st houser, and 4th houser and 8th.

My Taurus brother, my Taurus ex, and ex friend Virgo all worry about what others think, and they mold their behavior around this, to a large degree. I've seen similar with Cap friends, but not nearly as much as with the Tauruses and Virgo. They're curious about things, sort of, but mostly about how things work (especially the Bulls). I find Air signs being FAR more curious about things. Gem parents, and an Aqua sis, and all of them have their areas of "research the hell out of it" until they get bored with it and are satisfied, then it's on to the next thing. My dad is a research scientist, and even then he is constantly dabbling in and reading up on other fields of interests outside of what he specializes in.

I'm water dominant, but fire takes a close second, and air is tight right behind it. They're almost equal, but not completely.....it's water, fire, air, but the differences in balance aren't huge. Leo venus and mercury, aries mars. I also have some sag, aqua, gem, and libra in the chart.

this is a cold hearted murderer. who had no curiosity or care of the world. so he shut himself of the television of seeing what's out there.
I avoid the news (will touch on it, but not dive into it) because I empathize too much. I find it emotionally overwhelming constantly being bombarded with suffering, war, killings, idiot politicians, etc. To keep my focus and emotions in balance I need a lot of space from it all. It's a big reason why I refuse to go into the medical profession. I'd be a mess empathizing with everyone being in pain, distress, etc. Also, I hate needles. ~shudders~

I think the unibomber, and others like him, are not only devoid of empathy, but they make their version of idealism the ultimate be all/end all, and any action is justified in their minds.

I can certainly understand that. I find myself varying between not giving a shit(not sure if mars/uranus or uranus singleton) and being overly concerned! I could do without it! And I do plan everything lol-I'm thrown off balance by spontaneity.
Spontaneous is my way of being. It drives some in my life nuts. For me, it's very much a "ooooo, I have an idea! Lets do THIS!" and I'll just do last minute grab/pack of what's needed and away we go. Unfortunately, the procrastination part makes it so that even when I have time to plan I put it off to the last moment. I'm working on it, and I can be organized but it doesn't come naturally, and I have to always push myself and reconfigure when I get off track. It's a constant juggling act. I understand and can appreciate the need for organization and planning, but I'd happily live life with zero planning if I had my way. 😛

ooo that actually sounds very aries, MoonArtist. Very spontaneous. You have a good placement for mars./dignified.

I'm Cardinal dominant, with Fixed in second place, and very little mutable. All of that Cardinal, plus the Aries mars makes for lots of spontaneity, and one hell of a temper when it's unleashed.

I do shielding work, but I've gotten so used to being able to read people from a distance that having that blocked feels weird, like I've gone blind. I've just learned to balance how much I focus on the news with giving myself lots of time for myself and not being bombarded, and if I feel that it's getting to be too much, I scale back. I had a huge meltdown last fall when all of the kim davis crap was going on, plus the political, plus the racial, seeing people I care about act like raging dickwads because they were buying into the fear mongering and closed mindedness....it all bubbled up and I hit a point of seeing humanity as a whole, on a large scale (collective consciousness) that pissed me completely off, because humans have had thousands and thousands of years to grow and evolve and they keep repeating the same mistakes on a grand scale. At that moment it was "humans are so FUCKING STUPID!!!" I still see it that way, but I love humans, I see the potential in them and it's aggravating that they don't seem to see it, too.

Aqua sis has Cap merc and mars, and Taurus jupiter. Gem mom has Taurus moon, jupiter, saturn, uranus and virgo neptune. She only has 1 fire placement, the rest is air, earth and water. Not sure about Gem dad, haven't done his chart, yet. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a bunch of earth in his chart, too.

wow that's alot of earth. O_O
that's good they are curious about how things work too. I like that!! it's a good skill to have. Just like a mechanic wants to know how a car works. Or a plumber who wants to know how the mechanics of the plumbing system is done.

Yep, all air sign people I know are VERY interested in all sorts of things, and they master something, then it's on to something new. I call them hummingbirds.....and if they're in the middle of stress or anxiety they're hummingbirds on a caffeine rush.

hm i dont know though. Gemini is clever and master of none. because they are Multi taskers. they can do several professions. I find fixed signs to remain still and stick to one (aqua)
Libra is cardinal, and it's mostly about leadership and movement, so they have to move.

Taurus brother and Taurus ex are VERY handy in building/fixing things (one of the things I still love about my ex....I'll give him credit where it's deserved). Both of them have a knack for being able to build without being trained for it. The ex has no water in his chart, and my brother only has Scorpio Uranus. Both weirdly similar in personality (my brother would hate that if I told him, he hates my ex). The difference is my brother s capable and willing to grow and mature, my ex isn't, and his ugly side is very abusive.

this is something i've found when researching folks whose sun is not necessarily in gemini, but gemini dominants. unless they have prominent taurus, like my husband's best friend who has taurus moon. He is gemini dominant. So he does alot of things but he remains in ONE job ONE relationship for a long long time. he is stable.

this is stability of a fixed, remaining in one fixed place. Gemini, he has, but he probably exerts that with communication and being able to communicate well ect. And of course his natural attraction to women with air in them.

even Arnold schwarzzenneger who is dominant gemini i was highly disappointed he went from actor which i liked him in that role to politician...

he just flits from one career to another.

actually let me take that back. The career swtich is not a big deal, especially if he wanted that later in his mid crisis life. if he can do it....

it's the Multi tasking of many women...hidden away in his 12th house gemini.

water needs water, i understand that deeply.

i think your ex was exhibiting his shadow side, and didnt know how to heal himself to be a better person. I"m still learning about that, as to why some people can do that and why some can't.

I don't give up hope, but too often I see this on a large scale, globally, and also in my personal life with people I've been close to, I can see their soul, and they're so INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL.....and they DON"T SEE IT!! No matter how often and how much I try to get them to see the truth of who and what they are they refuse to see, and worse, they pile the ugliest SHIT on top of themselves, nasty, horrible traits that are so beneath them!! It breaks my heart every. single. time. For those that remain too toxic/abusive, I have to cut the cords and get clear of them.

As much as I hate my ex, and the ex friend, I can still see their souls, and I pity them that they can't, or that they refuse, even while I hope they live out their days in misery after the betrayals they've dished out. I'm contradictive as fuck. lol

but i also find taurus dominant and taurus suns mostly to be the best in astrology. My favourite researcher is a taurus sun, cancer venus/cancer moon but oddly he has gemini rising/aqua midheaven...so you're right, Moonartist, there's air there!! 😛

Yep, the gems I know are always dabbling into different things. My mom is an artist, and she's pursued everything from scratch board, to fashion design, to period costume design, to hat making, paper making, knitting, etc. Gem dad is more focused with his science, but still keeps up on all the latest in medicine, pharm, health, biology, physics, etc. Aqua sis has managed to stay pretty focused on her art and cosplay designs. I don't know a lot of Libras, and the couple I do know haven't done much other than be very diplomatic. lol

this is something i've found when researching folks whose sun is not necessarily in gemini, but gemini dominants. unless they have prominent taurus, like my husband's best friend who has taurus moon.

Taurus ex is Gem moon, and it took him forever to figure out he was going to be a nurse (he first trained for respiratory therapy). Now that he's a nurse he's settled down more, but not so much in relationships, since he's had affairs while we were married and I'm pretty sure he's still seeing more than just the ex friend, no matter how much she'd like to think she's the "only one". Actually, though, he did a good job of appearing as if he's in only 1 relationship (me, the marriage), and he does like that appearance, but he's a roamer.

Or a plumber who wants to know how the mechanics of the plumbing system is done.

these people/folks are the builders of life.
water in there, they're emotionally invested. 🙂
The difference is my brother s capable and willing to grow and mature, my ex isn't, and his ugly side is very abusive.
i think that's the difference, Moon, the wilingness to grow.

maybe this is the water way of regenerating and growing to be a better person, to learn from mistakes.

oin
I'm not sure if it's a water thing, or just a natural course, that if one self analyzes, you have to make changes and grow. Some people deeply fear self analyzing, so they avoid it. Maybe that's part of what creates a personality disorder? But not entirely.....So, people have the choice: take stock and learn/grow, or keep on the same path/bury head in sand.

I don't give up hope, but too often I see this on a large scale, globally, and also in my personal life with people I've been close to, I can see their soul, and they're so INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL.....and they DON"T SEE IT!! Not just carry it with me, I think it's something that gets built onto, and that might be part of why I ever decided to try out being human, to explore the perspective.

Yeah I can understand your organization statements-I jump between being very organized and completely disorganized. Although my reasons differ, Whenever I organize something it seems like a big project. Like I want to do it completely right. You sound like a lot of my water Dom friends! They fire off ideas all the time and initially I just had a hands off approach about It. But lately I've become more active in their planning because they tend to not be very realistic about it? So I try to make it more grounded and achievable.

I have absolutely no water in my chart(but I have a stellum in my 4th house). And I have an overemphasis on earth planets
How do you a lack of water effects you?
My chart compensates so I only feel it in waves. Phases where I seem almost incapable of sympathizing and understanding people on a deeper level than the intellectual. I'm not very aware of the feelings of others intuitively. I have to make inferences and logical progressions. So instead of 'I think that X is sad because I know her and she feels off' it's more like

"X was late to class, being late to class makes you lose 5 points. X needs those five points and because of this X is on academic probation. people who are in similar situations to X and have a similar temperament usually are upset about things like that. Its common. And she has displayed this behavior in the past. Therefore X must be upset."
I can't even imagine that kind of.....emotional freedom, for lack of a better term? I pick up on nuances without trying, and they're nuances that sometimes can't even be logically explained, nothing as straight forward as "X was late to class, therefore...." It's more about reading the energy off of others, like how animals pick up on earthquakes before they happen. I have a friend who is psychic in the way that he sees images of something happening or even before it happens who doesn't pick up on things in the same way that I do, so he'll have me read people he's met, people I've never met and have never seen, but with a little info about them (like how they met, the gender, parts of a convo) I can hone in on the person he's asking about and read them, and this is all based on energy. I do something similar in seeing a person's soul when I meet them. It's a blessing, but it complicates things.
I can't read energy very well unless I'm in one of my overly emotional phases. And even then I analyze people's actions to validate them because to me they are only but 'theories'. Although I often do get gut feelings that have no explanation that tend to be right. But rarely do they have anything to do with the emotional states of others(mercury conjunct neptune in Capricorn maybe?) strangely enough I do trust the gut feelings of my water dominant friends. Maybe your abilties are tied to the strength of cancer in your chart?

I guess I'm always in an emotional phase of some sort. There is no off button for me. Reading energy is an overly simplistic way of describing it, because it's not just one "flavor" of energy. It's similar to a dog smelling scents: there's numerous nuances and layers. I still try to let people show by action what their intent is, though, even if I've already read them and have come to some conclusions. That's probably a balance between my water and air, a mix of relying on the emotional while allowing for some analytical process, too. Always trust your gut!! It's never wrong, even when you can't make logical sense of it. The water in my chart is part of it, but there are some aspects in my chart that add to it (can't remember which ones, something from an article on psychic aspects in astrology). Also, like anything else, the more you use something the better you get at it.

my man got me a dishwasher. after that, it is wayyyy easier to clean up. I still have to clean up the kitchen . we dont have cooks and house maids around here. lol

but rinsing them and stacking them in the dishwasher is way better than soaking them up in the sink and washing them by hand.

He gets bonus points for that. Reminds me of when I first got married, and we didn't have a dishwasher. The ex (then husband) got annoyed that dishes were in the sink and went ahead to wash them by hand. Part way through he says, "This sucks! We're getting a dishwasher!"

I don't mind sharing the space, so long as no one messes up my organization. Even with a dishwasher I'd love to skip doing the dishes. I guess I need to find someone who likes to do that but hates to cook, because I love to cook but hate the cleanup. lol
