Ego tripping relates to the Sun's exaltation in Aries, symbolizing pride and self-identity. It highlights how individuals express confidence, achievements, and self-awareness. Recognizing ego displays helps understand personal strengths and shadows, especially during Aries season when ego energy is prominent. Embrace your unique qualities while maintaining balance between self-love and humility.
Aries Jill Scott...
"I'm taking my own freedom
Putting it in my song
Singing loud and strong
Grooving all day long
I'm taking my freedom
Putting it in my stroll
I be high-stepping y'all
Letting the joy unfold
I'm holding on to my freedom
Can't take it from me
I was born into it and it comes naturally
I'm strumming my own freedom
Playing the God in me
Representing His glory
Hope He's proud of me, yeah
Living my life like it's golden
Living my life like it's golden
(Hope he's proud of me)"
Ode to the indomitable spirit... to all the survivors...
Aries Sir Elton John - I'm Still Standing
"No, I'm still standing better than I ever did
Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid"
Technically exalted should be when the planet is about one square ahead of the sign (Cap is ex in Mars).
Aries/Taurus are exalted in the Sun.
You are asking me to explain rulership, exaltation, detriment. I can't just have a fun thread?
Fine.
There is a pattern you will notice in rulership, exaltation, and detriment.?? The characteristics (sign) are often exalted in energies (planets) that force a harmony.—? Aries is action and Saturn restriction, the combination equals perfect execution of will and force in an earthly (material world) way which focus Mars energy in a constructive vs destructive manner*.?? Aries and Capricorn are square.??
You can see the pattern illustrated**:
Mars
Aries (rulership) and Capricorn (exaltation) are square
Aries (rulership) and Libra (detriment) oppose
Saturn
Capricorn (rulership) and Libra (exaltation) are square
Capricorn (rulership) and Cancer (detriment) are oppose
Aquarius (rulership) and Leo (detriment) oppose
Jupiter
Sagittarius (rulership) and Virgo (detriment) are square
Sagittarius (rulership) and Gemini (detriment) are oppose
Pisces (rulership) and Gemini (determent) square
Pisces (rulership and Virgo (detriment) square
Mercury
Gemini (rulership) and Sagittarius (detriment) oppose
Virgo (rulership) and Sagittarius (detriment) square
Venus
Libra (rulership) and Aries (detriment) oppose
Taurus (rulership) and Scorpio (detriment) oppose
So, you see the pattern:
Exaltation = square
Detriment = opposition
The pattern illustrates the —secret,?? the resolution of energy where the particular planet characteristics are concerned.??
However, you will notice that the Sun (Leo) and the Moon (Cancer) are the exception to this pattern.?? For the Sun and the Moon, the sign of rulership is complimentary to the sign of exaltation — trine.??
Aries (Sun exaltation) and Leo (Sun Rulership) are trine
Taurus (Moon exaltation) and Cancer (Moon rulership) are trine
Sun
Leo (rulership) and Aquarius (detriment) oppose
Moon
Cancer (rulership) and Capricorn (detriment) square
The Sun, Moon, and Ascendant are the key components of human psyche (fundamental): Ego, Id, and Super-Ego (respectively).?? ??Rulership and exaltation need to be trine.
Signs with rulership over planets are constantly flowing with the energy of that planet.?? The energy is prone to being taken for granted, abused.?? When a sign has exaltation in a particular energy, it brings the characteristics of its sign to exalt, compliment the planet energy in a way th
Venus is exalted in Pisces because the qualities of Pisces amplify (purify) the energy of Venus (love, wealth, art).
Pisces Key Strengths/representation:
- motto: —I believe??
- all signs combined
- compassion
- accepting
- imagination
- altruism
- benevolence
Sun is exalted in Aries because the qualities of Aries amplifies (purifies) the energy of the Sun.?? The purpose of the Sun (ego, life, self, will)
Aries Key Strengths/representation:
- motto: —I am??
- self
- spring
- birth
- courage
- independence
- strength
- spirit
*Saturn can be more destructive than Mars but, Mars is destructive in a physical way; whereas Saturn is destructive with a holistic, long lasting effect.?? Saturn is a karmic planet.?? Mars is destructive with a poignant, short-lived effect. ??(Mars quick death - Saturn slow death).?? Those ruled by Saturn will be the first to be corrected; hence Capricorn's a dark, careful, reserved, quiet, closed sign.?? The mature ones know it; the young ones feel it.)
**To simplify, the discussion of planets in fall are excluded.—? Planets are in fall when in the signs that oppose the sign that represents exaltation.?? Example: Mars in Cancer is in fall because the sign of exaltation is Capricorn - ??Cancer and Capricorn oppose.)

It is funny to see how Astrology is always making himself problems. Bad enough that Pluto is no planet. Let's check the exaltation of Uranus. yes, the very flexible Scorpio. While Leo is detriment. With fire there's no change. Why don't they want to depend on authors here? Like exalted in Libra, detri in Cancer and fall in Aries? We see what Uranus in Aries can do. Look at us.
[From http://www.astrotheme.com/astrology_planetary-rulerships.php]
Uranus
Rulership in Aquarius, exaltation in Scorpio, detriment in Leo, fall in Taurus.
Neptune
Rulership in Pisces, exaltation in Leo (or in Cancer, depending on authors), detriment in Virgo, fall in Aquarius (or in Capricorn, depending on authors).
Pluto
Rulership in Scorpio, exaltation in Aries (or in Pisces, depending on authors), detriment in Taurus, fall in Libra (or in Virgo, depending on authors).

Not at all, Taurus is really happy in the sun, Taurus people are the happiest of all, it's like their time to shine, Uma Thurman, Clooney...Exalted isn't domicile, that's why they're two different words.
Yes they get a bit lazy, because while they're HAPPY to have the spotlight, they simply cannot handle it...they get tired.
They're EXALTED to be in the Sun, it is not their DOMICILE though...
No, its exalted...its just the effect of exaltation isnt so positive for Taurus.
And moon is exalted in Aries. Aries is happy to be the motor, the drive behind the person. Getting up in the morning and being competitive all the time. Problem is they annoy everybody and wear them out. But theyre exalted.
You havent actually said a word on the subject.

I disagree.
Moon is exalted in Taurus, though.
i'd have to agree with Moon, Grayid2. Taurus is exalted in the moon, and i can tell with those relatives/friends who have this. They can't have two exalted places, it would NOT be fair. Every sign has exaltation, domicile, fall and detriment, ect.
however if it's in 1st house, the it has the strength of aries. Or if it's in the other Power Houses, for example, ie. Scorpio, Leo, ect.
here's sun in houses:
http://www.cafeastrology.com/articles/suninhouses.html
this is the 2nd house:
Sun in the 2nd House:
You take pride in what you own, and have a strong drive for security. You have staying power, and you hate to let others down once you've made a promise. Avoid over-identifying with what you have. Concentrate on proving your worth through your strong value system and your incredible ability to stick with things and with people. Take pride in the solid and secure foundations that you build, as well as the lasting relationships you aim to maintain, while being careful to avoid possessiveness.
Alternate Interpretation: With the Sun's energy in the Second House, your personality drive will mainly be directed into the creation of personal wealth, with an emphasis on financial security. A strong desire for material possessions is a dominant motivating factor in your life. You are very sensible with money and, unless very careless, should always be comfortably off. -- From the Character Profile.

Yes Im aware of the dignities, as i demontrated in the text that YOU QUOTED! 🙂
I know most people think the current theory is right, but Its not. If you take EVERY sign and use the squares as fall and exaltation for each one, youll see it makes much more sense.
Where it sort of breaks down is not due to attribution of the wrong dignity, but the fact that exaltation or fall doesnt suit EVERYONE the same. An elderly person's exaltation might be a cup of tea, when a young person it might be a rollercoaster.
Taurus, being a quiet, slow type, wont enjoy exaltation that much.
Sagittarius, a worldly, bold type will enjoy Neptune as an opportunity to grow.
See?

As another Aries season soon comes to close, you can take stalk in things coming to a head.??
The Sun is exalted in Aries, the Sun represents the ego, and Aries rules the head — big headed as they say we are.??
So let's trip.??
What's your favorite display of ego— A poem, song lyrics, an experience, trophy, award, a characteristic or quality that you hold supreme? What are you proud of?
One of my favorite displays is a poem I discovered as a child.
Nikki Giovanni??s —Ego Tripping??
??
I was born in the Congo
I walked to the fertile crescent and built the Sphinx
I designed a pyramid so tough that a star
that glows every one hundred years falls into the center giving divine perfect light
I AM BAD
I sat on the throne drinking nectar with Allah
I got hot and sent an ice age to Europe to cool my thirst.
My oldest daughter is Nefferttiti
the tears from my birth pains created the Nile
I am a beautiful woman
I gazed on a forest and burned out the Sahara Desert
With a packet of goat's meat and a change of clothes - I crossed it in two hours
I am a gazelle so swift -
so swift - you can't catch me
For a birthday present when he was three I gave my son Hannibal an elephant -
He gave me Rome for Mother??s Day
My strength flows ever on
My son Noah built new/ark and I stood proudly at the helm as we sailed on a soft summer day
I turned myself into myself - and was Jesus!
men intone my loving name
All praises - All praises
I am the one who would save
I sowed diamonds in my backyard
My bowels deliver uranium
the filings from my fingernails are semi-precious jewels
On a trip north I caught a cold and blew my nose giving oil to the Arab world
I am so hip - even my errors are correct
I sailed east to reach west - and had to round off the earth as I went the hair from my head thinned and gold was laid across three continents
I am so perfect, so divine, so ethereal, so surreal I cannot be comprehended
except by my permission
I mean ... I ... can fly
like a bird in the sky ...
