My critique of Aries

I was married to an Aries and I find Aries a very strong sign, they get shit done. They actually do what they say. They are loyal and they normally are well liked by people in general while a sign like Cancer is probably less liked.

But this is where it gets complicated. While yall are the perfect workers usually when you are behind closed doors your true colors come out. I think when you are in relationships with people when no one else is looking you let a side out of you that truly is the opposite of what you project onto the real world. And is why most people probably take your side during a breakup

When Aries is with someone behind closed door another side of them comes out that no one would ever imagine being and its even more tactless and plain out mean for no reason. They become domineering and almost cruel like they have to take out the backwash of their fake front the put upont he world. They probably don't realize they are like this but I find it the most classless,childish and pointless behavior ive ever seen in my life to the point where I feel like its even darker than my darkest side.. Total lack of understanding of the other parties viewpoint and will argue and play devils advocate just to do so. Its like you don't know how to handle being with someone except to fully dominate them.when you don't do the same to your friends or family.

This is my bone to pick with Aries and while the Cancer sign has a ton of problems that are addressed all the time I feel someone needs to call you on this once and for all.

Aries wife told me anyman can give her a child and she doesnt care if she gets divorced 3 more times she will keep moving on.

I am just baffled at how this sign operates in love. Totally a F minus while an A plus in every other area of their life.

I know about 7 or 8 and they all are completely likeable people in public so its not like I try to target them.

My lesbian Cancer friend was with a Aries an she had the same complaints. We are insecure people so we cling to the Aries confidence but your are totally different to us in love than you are to other people. Its almost like a chamelon. Not even the greatest detective would take the Cancer side but I am telling you there is a darkness and meaness yall have you only show to certain people and I dont know why us.

@ hightide Was she being defensive? With one of my Aries friend, if there is a disagreement, I have to remind him to take it down 2 notches because if he feels attacked and in defensive mode, he can say mean things. But I've learned it is to protect his feelings.

I just dont feel like there is any real depth to Aries feelings compared to mine. Their nature prevents them from serious introspection while mine does.

I mean yeah i know they cry but if you try to appreciate that innocence they show 1 percent of the time they just got back into a never ending defense mode and no real progress is made. They can't even show real vulnerability at its core to their own husband/wife. Its pretty sad they have a never ending battle raging in their head with no relief. I need peace at some point. I dont have to always be right. I just don't want troubling waters around me at all times. I am not opposed to a good ole fight that end up in make up sex but this is on a totally different level, A power play for total dominance that I dont want to be involved in. I am not that concerned about being right all the time. I want to be happy above all else.

They just feel like they are sure of what they know and they dont understand the concept of more than 1 way to skin a cat.

Problem is that we are both cardinal signs and we both want to dominate the landscape in different ways. I was willing to back down but she could sense I was and that offended her.

Aries is just not a good match for Cancer at all. Aries women are better with Virgo or Leo men.

I am just totally offended how Aries are in love but like I said they get more things right in other parts of their lives than I do. I just wanted that energy to make me better and hopefully my energy to help fix areas that were lacking in their lives. I just wanted to call Aries on that because I feel not everyone is trying to best them at all times.

Cancers are too easy to dominate. Tis why i stick with fellow cancers. I dated an Aquarius and he was defs the boss in that one!

Its fine to dominate us but know when to let up.

Leos are good at this because they boss me around but they show me respect at the end of the day. They usually ignore me when other people are around but its still ok. I dont need the spotlight at all times.

Leo woman- That is so awesome you have your degree and own business im very proud of you.

Hmm i did notice that with some Aries, they are nicer to friends and family than they are to their significant others.

Pfff. I also could make a post and call out an average Crab on a bunch of completely mean and soulless acts they do, being a fellow cardinal sign you are far not angels.

Also, when two people slpit, it's never just one side's fault, so quit your classic sun sign crying and bad mouthing.

If anything, this board alone has 10 more complaints towards the Crab males than it has towards Aries females, or Aries on average. And it's consistent from month to month.

Man, u are cancer.. Sorry for that. Its too much for you. I totally agree with u, my aries is the best friend to have out of the door, at home she is totaly diferent.
Im in a relatioship with a crazy one, (read my post in leo section about us) im a cancer moon also, but leo sun and because of that i can handle her.. in fact i think she is the one having troubles dealing with me. I manage her to make an apointment with a therapist..... We are dominant also.. no mater what she thinks, we want things to reach on us, they hate that but also they love it. Aries are loyal, i think she will be a great mom, and i love that. Also leos seek career and adventure, cancers not, only money.

The thing is, u are a man, u need to show them that u are the boss. Cancers are nice people, but in my life experience the story is diferent. U show gratitude and shoulder for us but in reality u only sees money, career, mom and dad, fk all the rest, sorry but its my opinion, I dated with a cancer girl once, lots o leos tend to marriage cancer because its a safe spot for tcats, but they eventually found your true personality. My sister who is a leo also marriage with a cancer is nearly divorcing, because he is totaly depressive, too many years of workaholics and no good time with family, now he lost some precious time with them and want to recover, but socialy speaking he is a disaster, because he lost capacities to make friends during that period. Go for another cancer girl or a capricorn 😉

I'm actually the opposite. I come off as distant and intimidating in public. But once I let you in, I share tons of love and commitment. I'm always told that I'm nothing like people thought I was.

@HighTide, I empathize with your complaints. I'm not perfect, and I know that I have faults. Perhaps she hasn't gone through her personal journey of maturation yet. What you describe are some characteristics that I possessed before I went through the necessary phases that I went through to be who I am. I do not like to feel vulnerable with people, just myself and now my boyfriend. I feel that I am so blessed to have met him that my main goal is to cherish him. I often feel as though he loves me more than I love him and I wonder what I did to deserve him. However, I think he thinks the same about me.

Before meeting him, I too would push back anytime someone tried to get close. I'd purposely say hurtful things to get them to leave me alone, especially when the person was relentless in trying to establish closeness. I didn't trust easily and I wasn't secure within myself. I am different now in that I allow myself to feel vulnerable with my boyfriend, and that gives me strength to handle other people. He has my trust and I can tell that he values it.

I'm not sure how much open and safe communication you allow with your wife, but without a doubt, it takes a special level of understanding and patience to have an Aries in your life. All I know is this: if someone has an issue with me, I NEED for them to tell me. What is obvious to others may not be as obvious to me. Unless I do not care for the person or I believe the issue is unjust, I will do what I can to rectify it and improve on myself. But I need for people to give me a chance by telling me what is wrong, and then allowing me the space for reflection and then action.

I get where your coming from. I do have this tendency to want to dominate everything. I do work on that now. It takes time and self reflection.

What is the point of this other than to gloat? What's the point in calling out when you yourself said we are incapable of deep feelings and introspection. If that's the case we will never get it anyway. Sounds like either you're on your high horse and think you're better or an Aries really hurt you and you're deeply bitter because of it. I admit I'm prone to this "behind closed doors."

But it's usually because that person either brings the worst out in me with THEIR bullshit, or the relationship is different with them, than say, the general public. There's a comfort level there to where you can be more open to who you are.

But overall, in MY experience, when I get that bad, usually it's that person bringing it out in me because they're a fucking dick. Shitty habits, annoying as an individual, inconsiderate, rude, whatever.

While I don't excuse this flaw, I DO wonder wtf this Cancer was doing behind closed doors to provoke such a response. Knowing his history here on DXP, I wouldn't consider him the innocent party here, tbh.

I use to have some of these characteristics u are describing. I've changed those certain characteristics about myself because they weren't very attractive. I would get very mean & say hurtful things to significant others... I'm not the typical full blown Aries though. Even more so today than years ago.

Current job- everyone knows me as "nice, friendly, and goofy." Old job people would not recognize me at new job, and new job people would not recognize me at old job. They very rarely see me cranky.

I was just making my impressions on what I saw first hand. To say I was totally innocent would be a gross misstatement. I am sure I did things to provoke but there were time I was 100 percent sure i wasn't doing so and a fight or rude comment was made so there is a bully mentality Aries have against people who arent standoffish. I just think its sad when its suppose to be your life partner.

I am willing to look at the fault in myself and I did nothing except say Aries have a hidden personality while praising the other parts. What else you want me to do. I am not going to bow down in total submission to something i know is true.

It was just disappointing to me because I came into my relationship the way I was the first day we met, the good and bad i showed before hand. I fully showed the good and the bad as a Cancer but I didn't appreciate being shown one side of an Aries like the show to the world and then receiving the total opposite once the deal was sealed and we were married. Getting comfortable with me doesn't mean you unload your garbage on me and dominate me and think you can just normal to everyone else and not me.

Like I said I was fully aware that very little would take my side but it needed to be said. I have no ill will feelings to her as a person now. she is a good friend and thats where I should have kept her.

Thats all I have to say, many have been as honest as one can expect on this sort of thing.

I'm a hopeless romantic.. I'm not mean.. I can be bold.. And very straight forward.. But in a relationship .. I love a very strong man who can tame my fire.. And I will let him too! As an Aries I feel like I can win every fight every point or whatever.. But maturity helps you understand it's not always worth the battle...

So basically all Aries are not the same.. But I will not date an Aries!! Hell no! Because the few that I've meant have superficial love.. And they are mean .. Even for my tough skin Aries self!

Oh wow! As an Aries woman myself that sounds alot like an immature Aries. I've been in relationships and I never thought that I'd be bossy or dominate ever. And I think this is ridiculous. Water + fire sign, uh huh. When you give another look to the sign of Aries you see how we are the 1st sign and idk if you this but there are ages associated with each sign and Aries are considered "the babies" of the Zodiac. It's probably why we act childish at times. But with the power struggle thing, I completely disagree. I like people to be equals.

I did work and brought a bachelor degree into the marriage as I graduated Cum laude. There was a 2 month period I didn't trying to find a job after college. I now make more than her. That still didn't matter...

Brought in a ton of saved money to the relationship to furnish our house and I thought that would buy me time to show I didnt have a leech mentality but it didn't

She had better credit than me and I am still in the process of fixing it. I gave her credit for doing that but she stayed with her parents to built it up. I had a widowed father to take care of the years before I met her.

I did play video games but there are women who would put up with that as long as I took care of real life responsibilities first. That bothered her alot and I gave it up but she still found another problem to focus in on.

I basically told her after we divorced that there are better looking women who would put up with my shit and not complain about the things I did. She of course didn't like that and told me everything wrong with me which i agreed with because I have no problems people telling me whats wrong with me as long as they can take what I say.

and looks wouldnt have mattered if she treated me right but the combination of the bad attitude brought it to the surface when it wouldnt have.

I don't think im the shit looks wise but i started to look worse being married to her. Gained weight,etc.

Sounds like you didn't understand your Aries. Yes we are so tough but easily misunderstood. It was a cry out for attention to be loved, held touched hugged, appreciated, and to feel safe. Our bark is to say I need love but we will never tell our spouse that. We don't express our feelings and hold everything in.

I just didn't want to end up in a domestic violence situation. The intensity is not worth going jail over for me to prove a point to someone.

She wouldnt have backed down though, she would have fought me out to the end.

There are alot of faults in myself and we could go on for hours about mine.

I think she had alot of good qualities, i just felt not knowing how to act in a relationship or challenging a husband's authority constantly was a serious one. I wasn't interested in beating my wife to make her act right even though that probably would have made her calm down in some strange way but it wouldnt have felt good on my conscious at the end of the day and that just ends up in resentment down the line for temporary peace.

my comment still stands that they act different privately in relationships than they do in the world to other people.
