I was thinking about different relationships I've had and ones of other people I know, trying to notice why some succeed and some don't, no matter how hard the couple tries. It seems to me that the ones that work the best are the ones with a negative (female) and positive (male) pole. In most cases, the two positives, or the two negatives, don't work out (not all the time, of course). Has anyone ever thought about this before, or experienced it?
I don't know about the attraction, that pretty much comes from an external image. We see someone we're attracted to and we go for it. But, once there, we then start to try and develop a union and it seems that in most cases, if the poles aren't at opposites then the relationship slips away.
So, what does this mean? That in order for a relationship to flourish, there has to be opposition?
