You seem pretty intuitive when it comes to putting together info to me.I'd take your view on a chart than someone going on for a half hour about how Ceres in Scorpio makes them intense etc.
Ooo! Thanks! π

I don't dismiss asteroids but I don't understand them. And that's kind of the point for me: not many people I've asked do understand them. When I've asked what makes them more than just floating debris between Jupiter and Saturn the answer is usually
"................"
The only thing I'd say is it's a very odd coincidence that astrologers in the Middle East were about to pinpoint the locations of the asteroids just by calculating distance between the 7 visible planets, before we ever even discovered the asteroids.
There must be more to that coincidence that we don't understand.
That is very interesting! I didn't know about those Middle Eastern astrologers. I'll google that!
I guess I'll just have to start with how I identify with mine. Do you identify with the ones you've checked? Would you mind telling me which ones you identify with?

The only asteroids I know a little about are Juno, Chiron, Eros and Psyche.Juno represents the type of person we desire to marry or have as a life person. So if my Juno is in Aries then likely my ideal partner is someone ambitious and athletic, or at best, an actual Aries.
Chiron represents our deepest trauma or unconscious pains we're trying to deal with, usual stemming from childhood.
Eros and Psycho are separate asteroids but usually are interpreted together. They're similar to Juno but have a more "fated" or soulmate quality to it. You can read more on that here: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum28/HTML/000820.html
I'll check into that! Haven't had much dealings with aqua guys(my Juno.) Maybe I should...π
Haven't read it through, but that seems to be a good link, which I'm definitely going to read. Thank you! π

Yeah it was the Arabs and Babylonians that first figured out the pattern of distances in sound and light between the planets. And the exact midpoint between them happens to be the exact moving location of where some asteroids and centaur planets are in the zodiac. Pretty eerie.
Chiron in 12th seems to make the most sense to me personally and my chart. Chiron i think is the midpoint between Saturn and Neptune? And Pallas the distance between Saturn and Uranus? They are both wounded in mythology.

Thank you!
I have tried to find the story of the Arabic and Babylonian astrologers, but I haven't been able to find it. Do you happen to have a good link? Admittedly, I haven't looked for very long - it's possible that I would find it anyway, but if you happen to have a link ready...π

When they say Chiron shows hurt, it's specifically in the context of losing structure to your life (being that Saturn factors into it) with ideals (Neptune) and feeling out of place in the culture or environment (Neptune).I think it's Neptune anyway. I might be confusing it with Pallas.
Interesting! I looked it up and it seems Chiron orbits across jupiter and saturn and all the way to uranus. It does not cross neptune's orbit, as I understand it.

This is the non fun part of astrology. I only do planets.
Hehehe Well, I think it's all fun, but astrology is a lot to consider, imo. Just the basics seem to be decades of work to figure out...and that's just the planets... π

Ah so fair enough, it's the other way around then. Must be Pallas.I don't know any links. I did find one sit on Arabic astro a while back but didn't save it. Most of what I've read is from books translated.
I'll look into it! Thanks! π

I have cancer Chiron in the 12th too.
Planets, to me are more mechanical.
Asteroids are emotional. They fluctuat.
Above you asked a question. Asteroids give energy too. Where they are at the time of your birth effects a different sense then that of planets. It's subconscious and primal.

Thank you! Which asteroids do you identify with and use? Do you add them when you do a Pullen?

You think Chiron and Neptune are closely related?
I can see that. Neptune is ideals, lofty aspirations and dreams. Chiron is where all those linger.

But their orbits don't cross paths.

Yes. I've used pullen.
I like, Chiron, Juno, selqet, Hera and Pallas.

I did as well, but I just checked and it seems Pullen doesn't take that into account anymore. Why? Or am I mistaken? I thought you used to be able to get some asteroids included in Pullen in the past.
Thanks, I'll check those asteroids! π
check out my thread about Juno...shit idr where I put it hold on and I'll bring a link up.
I like asteroids. they're not as major as planets but still significant in my opinion

just because your sign is Aquarius for Juno doesn't mean they'll be an aqua BUT they'll have Aqua like traits. there's a lot that goes into it. such as aspects and such. my thread discusses that. it's long af lol

What other asteroids do you normally pay attention to?

sorry for such a delayed response! I thought I responded. My phone must have went to one of those stupid ad pop ups before it went through.
I like Chiron. It is conjunct my moon. I have a thread about that in the moon sign forum somewhere and pasted an article. Very accurate. I've learned more about Pallas, Eros, Psyche (Eros and Psyche are more sexual asteroids about love/romance preferences). Vertex works as like your "third ascendant" in a way and is important in synastry. Mine is Gemini 1 degree. Probably explains why I love air signs so much since I also have a Libra ascendant. Lilith is very interesting. Pholus is known to "explode" anything it touches. Mine is conjunct my Chiron (deepest wound). So my pain "explodes" so to speak when I am deeply hurt, it goes deep.
Speaking of Vertex...idk if it is actually an asteroid or not, but I know it functions as a third ascendant. Let me find the link I found!

Actually it is the "third angle". Not third ascendant. Totally messed that up lol. No idea what I was doing. But anyways yeah the three major angles are: Ascendant, Midheaven and Vertex.
Those are two pages about Vertex

I see time and time again people who mention asteroids in their intepretations of their charts. Should you? An astrologer told me that you should count the asteroids in your dominant signs. Do you agree?
Yes, an astrologer is waaaay better than I am at interpreting charts, but I know there are lots of opinions within the field of astrology, and asteroids are tiiiny. I mean, should we even count pluto? Okay, okay, I count pluto, but...it's really really small.
