Controlling the sign of your child

This topic was created in the Astrology forum by Bsmurray on Monday, October 28, 2013 and has 35 replies.

Can Parents Influence Their Child's Zodiac Sign

Parents cannot control their child's zodiac sign as it is determined by the time of birth. Planning conception for a specific sign is possible but ethically questionable. Astrology suggests signs are natural and not subject to human manipulation. Focus on nurturing your child's unique qualities instead of trying to influence their astrological identity.

Do you think there are couples out there that are really into astrology to the point that they plan out which sign they want their child to be?

Example: a couple wants a capricorn child, so they try to conceive during early march.

Also, is this an appropriate moral thing to do? Why or why not.

I would love a little capricorn. He/she would help me balance my budget, pay off my debt, and help plan for my retirement by using good longterm investment strategies.

As long as 2 people are just as concerned with their baby being healthy & being emotionally, physically & psychologically cared for REGARDLESS of their sign, I see nothing wrong with it.

And as long as the mother doesn't try unnaturally accelerating or slowing down the pregnancy trying to get the baby to be born on a specific day or month, I see nothing wrong with it

If a woman is all for having a premature baby if it'll mean that the baby is a Capricorn or Libra, that's dead wrong & her heart isn't in the right place

As long as the child will still be loved & wanted regardless of their sign, I don't see anything wrong with it

It's no different than some people shooting for a fall, summer or winter baby. Nothing wrong with that unless it turns into an unhealthy obsession that becomes more about everything else but the well-being of the baby

I remember when my twins were born & the 1st thing my husband & I said was "Uh oh, we've got Libras!" lol But that's as far as we took it

Actually a cancer son, they're hard workers and mommy boys. I'll never fear I'll be left alone in a group home.

If by hard working you mean is 19 years old, has no job, not currently in school, lives with dad, and stays in his room playing video games all day then yeah they're hard working alright !

That's the parents fault. Not the zodiac. Every cancer i know makes 80-150k and they're all momma boys.

This is my brother.

We come from the same parents.

I admit I am not making 80-150K a year, but when I was 19 (his age) I was working and going to school.

A Cancer daughter would be cool now you mention it. She could manipulate me and butter me up into paying for this or that expense, and I'd let her get away with it. Princess type.

Cancer daughters LOVE their daddy's.
I used to fake cry to get certain things and he fell for it all the time. LOL
He would buy me flowers & gifts and he never missed a valentines day.
One day he bought me these little colorful cactus and said it was like my personality.
He would take me shopping, which I hated because he was so impatient with me.
And he never knew what size I needed, it was always too young for me.

We love to hang around our dads even if it means helping you fix the toilet.
If your daughter has mars in Libra you two will be BFF's.
WARNING: You will need to be affectionate and shower us with lots of little gifts.
But don't spoil too much, talk with us to help us understand, don't hit and never shout at us, unless we are about to run into traffic.

Oh I always had little pet names for my Daddy Patch. LOL
Daddy cakes can you buy me a cheese cake.
He would run out and come back with a whole cheese cake and I would eat til I got a stomachache.
Dearest daddy I love you, will you buy me a a new coat and take me to the zoo.
LOL

Scorpio males are also the best children, just take too long to do anything, but they're the best. I think scorpio girls are easy to manage than other girls until they're adults.

For some reason I want a Scorpio male or Taurus male child and a Virgo & Cancer daughter.
The Scorpio boys are funny in how they love to direct me in what I am doing.

I don't particularly care, but my Scorp says that birth control will be ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED during July's.

Lol smh...with that kind of attitude and my luck, I'll end up conceiving during late June, and we'll end up with a little Ram anyway. 😈 😄

When would you have to conceive to make a Crab child?

Cap girls will make you broke. So will Taurus. I need a scorpio as a girl child. Taurus for a boy.

Cap girls will NOT make you broke! I never asked my parents for a dime, to buy me anything or to do anything for me for that matter. My Cap daughter was very much the same way, at 3yrs old would ask "Mom, can we afford this?". A couple of years back she asked to borrow $ 100 to cover rent, she was SOOOO ashamed. I had my money back within a week. That's the only time she's ever asked. When she moved back in with me I had to insist she do so. In turn, she insists on paying me rent, even upped it herself when her bf started staying at the house. Yeah, Caps girls are actually perfect children 🙂

@CC, Cancer children are too needy for attention and end up with emotional problems if not provided for well enough in that area. (my sister is a Cancer and my brother Cancer/Leo cusp - both way off the charts for me in emo land). Maybe you could deal as a Cancer yourself. That being said, DON'T have a Cap child!! You would not get the emotional reaction from your child that you would so crave and you'd probably sicken the child with your emo tendencies. Just sayin'

As for Virgo's, they'd probably at least keep their room clean and the rest of the house for that matter 😄 Major +

Not that you mentioned it, but Libra sons aren't half bad. A little argumentative at times. Bright, can argue any side of a position (just to push buttons sometimes). My son was correcting/educating people by age 5 "Actually..." he'd start his sentences with (still does :/). He turned out all right, very cost conscious too, fairly practical in his spending and sensitive to what others are putting out for him (such as bdays or xmas). He is on the Virgo cusp though, so, maybe best of both worlds - just doesn't do a damn bit of cleaning 😛

I did it and it was easy because I have C-sections.

First time, I wanted a Taurus and I got a Taurus male.

I wanted a Aries girl and had her due date match my birthdate... success! However, because I have large babies, the doctor wanted to take her before she got too big, two weeks early... Pisces. She was 8.7lbs. and her brother was 10 lbs. She would have been a 9 lb. Aries.

Ha, I have one, she can't manipulate me to save her life, but never stops trying, and my cancer son tries also - BUT she can soooo manipulate her daddy and my partner, the suckers 🙂 She said to me last night, "Mammy taurus man is like my slave, he does everything I ask him to"

HA! I have been talking about this with some friends lately. I would try to work on it around January to get Libra or Virgo. If that doesn't succeed I would like capricorn or pisces.

You really can't control the sign of your kid even if you tried and wanted to. Not only is conception never guaranteed when you want it but babies almost never come at their predicted due dates. So in a nutshell it's pointless to even try to have a kid with that in mind.

My dad tried this and almost got his way. He wanted me to be born on the 10th of September just like him...my mom couldn't stand the heat and went 2 weeks ahead.

He is still carrying some sort of mini grudge over that 🙂)
