How important are the houses?
I believe so, you have planets energy that angules made from earth resemble for.
Okay I got some 7th house stuffs. This actually makes sense, your theory.
I think house placements are important and the energy of the sign a house rules affects the expression of the planet falling in the house. That's how I read charts and Pullen seems to consider house placement=its corresponding sign when calculating sign dominants. For compatibility I look to house overlays in synastry along with harmonious aspects.
Agree with all of that. I wish more astrologers paid attention to it.

Sucks when I've bought a synastry report which only lists aspects and ignores overlays. Horoscopeyourself.com is becoming one of my favorite resources due to acknowledgement of house overlays (also composite moon phase: + it's free)

Signs = How do you perceive the theme
For example, if you have Taurus 12th house, a person with the Sun in Taurus will talk out of your dreams. What is a dream for you, is the ego expression for them. Taurus 12th house will dream about being loved, wealthy and having financial security while the Sun will be an authority about these subjects.
Using the example above, Earth signs would fall at Water houses...So the emotional state is totally earthy.

Would having lots of 8th house and 12th house placements lead to higher compatibility with water signs? Or having 7th house and 11th house placements lead to compatibility with air? Or am I looking at this all wrong?
