Understanding Inconjunct Aspects and Their Impact on Mental Health

Inconjunct or quincunx aspects involve a 150-degree angle between planets, indicating areas needing adjustment. They often challenge mental balance but promote growth through change. Recognizing these aspects can reveal how internal conflicts influence mental health and personal development.

So I was having lunch with a friend and bumped into a woman I have done some workshops and classes with.....she is a very knowledgable Astrolger. She said she was studying the Inconjunct and it's connection with mental health in the chart. I looked into it and found this ~ interesting stuff ~

*Remember, quincunx means 'integration.' The quincunx is asking you to change something or make an adjustment in the 2 houses where the planets sit that create the quincunx. A quincunx is a 150° angle (8° "orb" or less). In medical astrology, the orb is said to be (2° to 5° degrees) and is considered the most important aspect in the chart. The quincunx glyph looks like a semisextile that is upside down.

A quincunx is often described as 'being between a rock and a hard place.' Therefore, the quincunx is described as a "hard" aspect, meaning it brings challenge. And challenges eventually build a stronger character. Through your own inflexibility, the quincunx will teach you to either "bend" or "break." Either way, you'll learn. And whether you learn the easy way or the hard way is certainly up to you*

The Inconjuncts are as follows -

Aries Inconjuncts Virgo and Scorpio

Taurus. - Libra and Sag

Gemini. - Scorpio and Cancer

Cancer. - Sag and Aqua

Leo. - Capricorn and Pisces

Virgo. - Aries and Aquarius

Libra. - Taurus and Pisces

Scorpio. - Aries and Gemini

Capricorn - Gemini and Leo

Aquarius. - Cancer and Virgo

Pisces. - Leo and Libra

Interesting stuff! Both my rising and jupiter are in quincux to my mercury and venus respectively. Almost exact orbits, both less than half a degree. I do feel the need to change, to adapt or bend from one of the sides. Rising and jupiter in pisces, venus and mercury in leo.

In synastry - I call this the "Forbidden fruit aspect"

I agree and found it a nightmare.....there is only so much banging your head up a brick wall you can do

But banging it against other things with some padding isn't so bad 😈

😛

Tried that........got boring after a while

Lol

hahaha.

I have this crazy stupid draw to crabs ( Virgos too).. I wonder if it's due to this stuff. I am an Aqua after all and I have always wondered why because they can drive me batshit cray cray.

I have two yods so I'm familiar lol.

Jupiter in Leo-Neptune in Capricorn-Gemini Mars which is all in the same degree in respective signs.

Scorpio Sun-Gemini Mars-Neptune in Capricorn with a 2° orb on the sun

Inconjuncts are annoying lol. But over time I'm finding that the aspects unveil little revelations about myself. I notice it becoming more clear very slowly over time. Maybe by the time I'm old and wrinkly I'll be able to articulate their influence more fluidly lol.

This was true for me as well.

As the OP said, I really feel that na inconjunction is asking you to reflect on how both energies should work for the better.

For example, I have Leo inconj Capricorn and Pisces.

Leo inconj Cap - The need for the spotlight should be responsible and not so much based on ambitions or ego.

Leo inconj Pisces - The ego should be turned off a few times so you can sacrifice yourself for high ideals

I have Cancer moon inconj Sag Neptune

I guess you don't suffer from a big loss because of that.

cause you can compensate it with

- being a scorp (for creative part of well aspected neptune)

and

- moon in cancer (for correct channeling to the subconsciousness + have a heart for others).

both signs are intuitive.
