Most and Least Religious

What signs do you find the most and least prone to be very involved in one of the major organized religions?

Most spiritual (b/c they have complex minds & actually like dwelving into subjects/topics that are "deep" & complex---anything that's NOT simple): Aquarius, Scorpio, Virgo, Cancer

Lease spiritual (b/c of their short attention spans & admiration for things that are simple and/or black & white... These people can barely last/sit through a 2 hour church service) : Leo, Sagg, Gemini, Aries & Pisces

Caps, Libra & Taurus are sort of in the middle. They only get "deep" when they're in the mood. It's not an all-the-time thing for them.

I could have explained myself better.I was actually wondering less about spirituality (which could apply to any major or minor religion or no religion at all)and more about straight-up zealous ("zealous" being the operative word) adherence to a major organized religion. But maybe you used "sprititual" in place of "religious" but meant the same thing?

Almost everyone I know is nonreligious, or practices an alternative-type religion. So, even everyday members of organized religions stand out in my crowd, and very religious people REALLY stand out. The very religious are the ones I'm asking about.

I haven't found any correlation between signs and the very religious people I know, though. Just wondered if anyone else had. My very religious friends are: a Capricorn and an Aqua (married 7th Day Adventists who's faith prompted them to cut ties with friends, quit their jobs, and track the sabbath by the moon), a Libra (a minister), a Pisces (Greek Orthodox), and an Aries (does missionary work). Representatives from each element!

I know most people in the country (so probably on this board) practice a major religion, so I was wondering who among the people they know stands out as extremely religious even by their standards, and who isn't into religion at all.

There's only a few people I know who have been zealous about their belief to the point of it standing out, and only a few who vehemently refuse to accept religious faith.

Scorpio - both ends of the spectrum

I don't know the signs of the most religious people I know. I work with them and they're all from Ethiopia. That's all I know. No friend, or acquaintance, I know is religious at all. My ex's mom is pretty Catholic and she's an Aqua.

I'd say the least religious, as in atheist and outright anti-religious, are a Cap, my ex Libra, a Cancer, a few Virgos, and a couple of Taureans. Other than that most people I know are agnostic.

Interesting that you claim people who can barely last through a church service to be "simple" people who can only see in black and white. If anything, organized religion is tailor-made for simpletons who can't think beyond "us vs. them" and need strength in numbers to justify their beliefs. I also don't know where you're getting that Pisces are simple and not spiritual when almost everything I've read (correctly, IMO) states that we're very complex and deeply spiritual. If anything, that's the real reason you haven't been running into too many fish at the church house... most Pisces I know have questions about the universe that are far too complex for the answers organized religion could provide us.

I would also disagree that Virgos are likely to delve into organized religion. The sheer lack of logic and contempt for anything beyond "have faith!!!" would be a huge turn-off for them.

I agree that the signs being called simplistic are some of the ones most prone to delving into mysteries and finding answers for themselves. The ones among those signs avoiding church are doing so because they're not religious, not because they're not spiritual.

You won't find THIS Gemini sitting through a two-hour service. I'm plain old bored! I think the ideas are too simplistic, I don't like being told how to think, and things being said just don't ring true for me. The last time I sat through one was when I was tricked into it. My Aqua friend invited me to her baptism and conveniently forgot to tell me it would be at the very end of the service. I would rather go to the service of a religion with which I'm not very familiar- simply because I like to experience new cultures.

My Aries mom believes there's a god who created us and now just sits back to watch what happens without intervening. You won't find her in church (because, given her beliefs, what would be the point of it?)

My Sagg sister went to church as a youth- until the Sunday school teacher told her she should hate her gay friend. She told the teacher she was wrong, walked out, and never went back. To ANY church. She got to thinking about other things they were saying that didn't make sense to her. Sometimes, all it takes is one thread to unravel the whole sweater.

And that came from a person who claims that everything she writes about in here comes from her own observations, having interviewed thousands of people .... so, how could she be so wrong?

Pisces only in black and white? That would mean we cannot lie because everything would have to be clear-cut, do deceptive shades of gray.

Whimsy, I don't think this can be categorized according to astrology ....

Perhaps, it has more to do with how a person is raised .... if a person is coddled and never held accountible for thier actions, then they probably grow up thinking that some other force is the one responsible for life itself ....... whereas a person who is raised having to tote the line for their own life, even as a child, would probably grow up more inclined to "think" about what is right, rather than taking blind leaps of faith.

Yeah, there doesn't appear to be a sun sign correlation. Oh well, fun experiment.

Most Religous people i know: 2 Sagg, 2 leo, one aries hmmm seems like fire signs attention spans aren't that short.

I also know 2 taurus and one cap heavily into Santaria.

I am not religous at all and Im an aries, the reason being that most religions that have been shoved down my throat are chock full of contradictions. If it doesn't make sense to me then I cannot believe in it.

I know and love a lot of virgos in my life and every single one of them sees the world in black & white.
my first bf who was a virgo even told me... "you're either happy or your sad; there's no such thing as a middle."

meanwhile, pisces me over here... black & white? please. EVERY shade of grey.

and to add to the controversy, my mother's adoptive son is a pisces and grew up to be an orthodox preacher.

I do agree with your categorizations on the behavioral terms of the signs though. whether that really applies to spirituality, I cannot say.

LOL, maybe because I haven't heard from this girl since January. I honestly don't care to speak to her or miss her, she drains me.

I would say Cancer may be the sign most involved in mainstream/conventional religion because of the need to belong, to find "safety in numbers", and perhaps to find some kind of reassurance or peace of mind regarding the afterlife. Most religions are pretty big on "family values" as well. My mother was a Cancer and a regular churchgoer. Perhaps Aquarius might be the most "atheistic" sign.

Pisces tend toward Christianity. It seems to fit their philosophy
Libra may tend towards Buddhism or Taoism

Atheist would be Leo. But depends if they have made a personal God their sun.
Dark Aries/ dark Leo fit Satanic philosophy (I am my own God, smite thee who cross my path)
Good Aries / Leo would Look to Christianity or Buddhism
Sagittarius would be simply spiritual

Aquarius would be free thinkers
Gemini dabblers or pantheiests, Hindu

Scorpios would fit pagans/ wicca
Cancer would fit buddhism

I know that wasn't set in stone; just throw a pebble at a church congregation and you're bound to hit all 12 signs if you redo the experiment a set no of times. Was just going by some intuition.
