What's your style of asking someone their birthday and when?

Best Ways to Ask Someone Their Birthday

The best way to ask someone's birthday is to be polite and natural, mentioning curiosity about their zodiac sign or birthday without making it feel intrusive. Timing matters, so wait until the conversation flows naturally. Respect their privacy if they seem uncomfortable, and avoid making assumptions about horoscopes or astrology.

I'm pretty direct about it. I will often say that I want to draw up their chart.

It doesn't matter to me if they're into astrology or not. I'm into it. If I come off weird, I usually shrug it off or make a joke about it.

But as long as I have the info I want, it's all good.

I typically wait a little while and get a feeling. Definitely at some point I ask.

If I'm curious, I just ask. People think I'm quirky regardless, to be honest.

I was taking a walk with my boyfriend, his brother, and their friend when I wanted to know my BF's brother's sign.
They were having a conversation about physics. My BF's brother is brilliant at math. Anyway, I was in my own head, and I had to have my question answered.

Me: "When's your birthday?"
Him: "Huh?..."
Me: "I want to know your sign, so when were you born?"

Because it was on my mind and I just asked, it was odd to him because I didn't put any effort into trying to ease into it.

He's my opposite sign, libra, by the way. He has a cancer GF. The friend was Scorpio. The physics discussion turned into an astrology and then astronomy and then mythology one. Good times.
