I read a lot of it. It does get a bit overwhelming. I think the historical examples bulk it up too much. I would read it but excluding those first and then later delve into the historical stuff

Yes, I think from previous books he puts the historical lesson first, then he explains the law behind it.

My strategy might be to read the chapter, then re-read the historical example to see if it enhances the lesson. At least that way I can keep the law in mind while reading the historical example, which is what Greene does while writing, presumably.

I recognize Greene's first law when I take a day off from Threads

Comments in my notifications don't matter as much as if I'm always responding all day

By withdrawing, I collect my thought, and realize i don't care.

When I trigger other people, their emotions run wild and I tend to react to that—law 1— and that creates an emotional investment

There is the issue of parasocial relationships, like with Celebrities. I might feel a connection with them, even though I don't know Britney Spears or Danny Devito.

So I've gotten into demonology now...

the sigil concept sounds cool except its association with this stuff which i don't like

i guess what i'm saying is that animism in Christian superstition is quite fascinating

i'm not going to try conjuring demons, or my inner athena,

more God is the heirarch of spirits and i can channel them i guess, like my family spirits, but really God reigns supreme

...all this from the Narcissim chapter
