I decided to confide in a good friend of mine, who happens to be a psychiatrist. Just talked to him about randoms and he started psychoanalysing me. I wasn't having a good day that day and somehow that translated to me entertaining his efforts. After a couple of hours of chatting, he asked me to do this exercise, of just drawing my circles of trust.

I don't like psychiatrists, usually. I find it easy to control people, generally. I'm usually frustrated when I realise that even when I deliberately give them nonsensical bullshit, I can make them think that's a "break through" moment. It's counter productive, and as soon as I realise they just accept my shit, its when I stop caring and start "shutting down". Anyway, when it came to my psychiatrist friend, I decided to play along and not "control his perception".

He's pretty convinced my past relationship messed me up. I'm pretty sure i'm past all of that drama and lost 99.99% of the baggage, but there is no way I can say that without taking control of this situation and his thinking, which would've been counter productive. So I decided to play along anyway. He asked me to draw to diagrams, pre and post. I decided to share it.

The idea behind this thread is showing off my, or our drawing skills, just to see how we draw our "shells".

I'd like you to draw your own shell too, and post your chart.

And if you're not a cancer, just draw your circles and post your chart.

Pre:

6. The world
5. Associates
4. Family
3. Best Friends
2. Brother
1. Me

Post:

11. The world and extended family.
10. Associates.
9. Family.
8. Good friends.
7. People I'm keeping an eye on.
6. Landmines.
5. Brother.
4. Trespassers will be shot.
3. Survivors will be burnt.
2. Nuclear defence zone.
1. Me.

He then asked me where would I place my ex on that drawing. I said "I refuse to put her in this page, probably somewhere in space". That really shocked him. Anyway.

why ?

Oh you have no idea how many psychologists and helpers sit with inpatients so long that they turn to psychiatric help themselves or kill themselves in the end because it was too much, said patients just wanna play mind games. All this miserable life and for what? Trying to help. No kind deed goes unpunished they say, or no good people gets a break, and this exactly is what torments us Cancers, IMHO, more people out there that deserve our hate but ... not them.

I sort of understand what you mean, but I wasn't criticising the profession but only some of its practitioners. Some of them really have no business being in that business. Some lack intuition, some lack empathy, some lack passion and so on. It just seems I keep seeing all the wrong ones.

Is anyone a psychiatrist/psychologist in this thread ?

or

Do you guys wish you can visit a psychiatrist but can'tat this stage for reasons beyond your control ?

I'm getting a weird vibe and just want to figure it out. Didn't expect any of you to get defensive.

I saw a psychiatrist when I was a troubled teen and manipulated the shit out of her. She tried to use scare tactics and then drug me...

I chose to see a psychologist when I was older, and went for about a year. Was completely open and honest with him (because he was a perfect match for me) and I can't tell you how much he helped me. We are still friends and catch up every couple of years just because our discussions are so interesting.

Okay I get it now.. I'll draw something later. Interesting

It's funny you started this thread cause I was just thinking about my therapist yesterday. Watch me derail. Very, very reputable and spiritual guy. Did shaman work, very into Jung etc. This was before I was into astrology too.

He was an Aquarius, married to a Cancer. I was just heading out of my marriage to an Aquarius when I started seeing him.
By the end of the year... he was doing more talking than I was! haha... 2 years later.. we had both separated from our spouses. wtf?n

One of his many, many great lines to me was.. "We can meet people and there is a spark of recognition, or remembrance. It can all be very exciting but we have to wonder if we have met them on the ascent or the decent?" deep stuff...

Not sure how to draw on here, but my cicles would indeed overlap im afraid. I mean I would want most people in my life to fulfill more than one role, (i.e level at a time). For instance, I want my husband to be my bestfriend as well. Now if I drew it in terms of circles it would never work out that way.The only possible way for me is to overlap things and have just a big undefined mess, which fits and suits me perfectly. I tend to work better in meyham than order. Its like I excel in crisis situations. Hope that makes sense.

Now that you got me thinking... Im so used to thinking "outside the box" that to put me "inside the box" will never work. I have to be free to just explore every possible solution and idea. I mean after all thats what makes thing interesting. Its like this...why onions? Why not bellpeppers or squash? If I start to follow a certain mold "which would never work with me, then id get claustophobic. Maybe because Im an aquarian and we walk to our own tune.....

They do.

+

They always talk to me about nature, it always rubs me the wrong way.

What do they say about nature and why does it rub you the wrong way?

I remember visiting a psychologist and he decided within the first 30 minutes of the first session that I suffer social anxiety. So he kept talking about trees and how deep are all the roots of trees and how the interconnect to create the Forrest and that every tree needs the tree next to it or some bullshit within those lines.

Sounded very avatar like.

And then he kept repeating "You're not a robot" and kept talking about kites flying in the air or some irrelevant nonsense. I really just wanted to talk to someone and he did all the talking. That just pissed me off.

If they sound un-involved in your emotions, then they can diagnose you and then they'd be doing it right.

I'm not a psychologist but this sounds basic.

I see where you're coming from, but I disagree. I don't think/expect anyone to be involved in my emotions, not sure if that's even possible. In my case, I don't think he identified the relevant emotion, the reason that brought me there and he was just being judgemental.

Lol. So did you date him then?

^^^^ I meant *descent* not decent...

My therapist always wanted me to go to "my place of peace" which was somewhere in nature .

I had a tape (might still have it) that helps you get to a deep relaxing state and it tells you to go to our place of peace and talks about nature etc but not animals. It's good, I think it's a tape to help you quit smoking.

date him? good god no! claro pls... it was just our lives paralleled a great deal at that time, and I'm watery so people sometimes share personal stuff with me.

He did say we met for a reason and I may have had influence in some great changes in his life.. including giving up his practice and moving to a small island. Moon/Mars Opp Pluto in the 1st.

it can happen..

a = me, my mum & my best friend.
b = the rest of my family.
c = everybody else.

I"ll use your shell because I don't know how to upload videos or pictures on here.So

a= Mum,Granny,Brothers and Nieces
b=Best friends
c=extended family: cousin/ Past loves that are still dear to ly heart/friends that I keep a good memory of

d=Everybody else.

out of the shell=the work sphere(I'm fake in the workplace because it gets me depressed==>it has always been said that you got to have a tough shell at work)/People I had bad experiences with and decided to eradicate of my life.

I understand why you shut your ex out of the shell though, I would never have any form of contact with a person who was no good for me again.That's why astrology describe cancers as "clanic" we eliminate everybody that is just not right for us.
