A lot of it is smoke and mirrors, like the reusable launch vehicle launch cost estimates. SpaceX put put this wild reduction of cost number that would be achieved by reusing the rockets before they even manage it once and most importantly seeing if the condition of the things that actually make it back allows for reuse.
Musk is in the business of selling dreams that can only come true if everything works out 100% (it rarely does).
As for your previous post, man, thats a planet sized magmetosphere were talking about. Imma wait out a bit to see some further research before i subscribe to the thought it can be done.

How do you feel about the self driving cars concept? It's still a bit far off but they somewhat seem to work, but I dont want to use them. People are also able to trick their sensors to decipher different speed limits.

I can't say the same for Ford, Toyota or Mercedes who are absolutely top notch.

And on top of that Tesla has a hearing before the National Labor Relations Board in November for charges that company supervisors and security guards harassed workers distributing union literature. Tesla denied the accusations.
Sounds like a wonderful work environment, completely capable of exponential production growth in the range of 400% . (this was sarcasm btw in case the blinders are too stronk too see it)

Before Musk works out the production kinks all the major players will have gobbled the EV market share and Tesla will end up as a battery selling company made in their Gigafactory which is a JV with Panasonic who iirc owns a lot of IP rights for those batteries.
