🙂 We've been together just over one year. (But he has been talking a lot lately about being together forever).

I'm an Aries with lots of water in my sign so I'm sensitive and emotional and can relate to my Cancer who's the same. I am more independent than he is though and less needy than he is. I'm very nurturing and like to take on traditional female tasks such as cooking, cleaning etc. and letting him be the "man" so to speak. Someone mentioned that a Cancer with Gemini in Venus wouldn't prefer a dominant woman. I agree. My Cancer has this placement and definitely prefers to be the more dominant one in the relationship.

Do his natural traits rub you the wrong way at the beginning? How did it work?

His sensitivity initially took me by surprise. I'd never met a man as emotional as him. But I discovered that I like it. His neediness usually makes me feel good - if it's me that he needs 🙂 But sometimes it's a bit smothering.

Cancer want the object of their affection with complete single mindedness....it's a very private world for two. I have been given to understand that Aries like their lovers to want them in exclusion of anything else. So that sort of makes it a good match...but what's the point at which Cancer's affection gets smothering?

Secondly, Cancer loves to be pampered and receive gratitude for the things that they do for their lovers, Aries forgets everything in 15 mts 😛, how do you balance that?

I think its because its easy for them to take each other for granted and its easy for them to disappoint each other.

Think of it, you meet someone, you realise you are too alike. You fall in love and because you are too alike, you create high expectations for the relationship. Since no one is perfect, someone will fuck up and we will be disappointed. And when that happens, because all the water everywhere, it evolved to a very emotional situation. And because everyone is fantastically imperfect, we fuck up a lot, but we need to communicate that our escalating disappointment, which is why these situations are endlessly/infinitely dramatic and emotional.

- Was there any previous drama ?
No - Create drama
Yes - Escalate level and intensity of drama
Make up sex
And repeat.

And we are cancers, we reaaaally need contrast in everything we do in your lives and our relationships are not an exception. Too different, we have issues. Too similar, we have issues. We need a natural, balancing and beautiful contrast.

I used to want that and I used to think my soul mate is probably a water sign, because I'm a watery water sign and I need an emotionally intelligent partner. But then I dated a Sag, and discovered she is emotionally intelligent enough for me. And then I learned that so are Gemini women and Libra women and Aries women and Capricorn women and Taurus women and even aqua women. So I stopped obsessing about water signs/emotional people and started looking into other qualities that I care about.

I think I just need a Cancer Moon, that's pretty much it. I don't care about Sun sign, Venus sign or even Mars sign.

I think the certainly good water sign combinations are

Scorpio woman - Pisces man
Scorpio woman - ACrabbyCrab (Cause I think he likes scorps and don't want to disappoint him with my statement)

Cancer M-Cancer W

Scorpio M-Cancer W (TO AN EXTENT)

And the fuck no list is

Pisces W-Cancer M
Pisces M-Cancer W
Scorpio M-Pisces W (Maybe, don't really care to research it)
Cancer M-Scorpio W (unless its acrabbycrab and whoever R1g is dating. Don't like disappointing people)

Don't know about other elements, but I think water signs should look outside their own element.

I think Cancer Moon are very emotional and sensitive more than Cancer Suns, from experience. But lovely sign. Anything Cancer, you'll feel the warmth there.

It gets smothering when he follows me from room to room :p I think I'm pretty good at pampering and showing gratitude. I don't forget anything 🙂 But it does sometimes feel that he needs a lot more pampering that I deem "normal", lol.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. I think the cancer-pisces dynamic can work if other chart elements support it and the individuals are a tad more aware. Those two were sort of unstable individually as it was, and when combined it was like kaboom.

I don't know about you guys (purr, bommy, any other cancer who wants to chime in), but I NEED an emotional spouse or things will fall apart. I would actually prefer a little more neuroticism to aloofness, as it has the ironic effect of keeping my own neurotic tendencies in check.

I'm the same. I once had a relationship with an aloof Aqua. I much prefer my emotional Crab - even if he does cry more than I do🙂

I have cried exactly twice in the last 20 odd years, when my grandfathers passed away. Apart from that I don't get emotional at all. Does this make me a bad Cancer? :/

LOL! He actually does that?? Ok, that's smothering even for me. I am always happy to let my partner do what they want independently as long as we have quality time together whenever we can. I am not really needy about that.

I don't know if it's the aquarian moon but the general cycle is the following, something big bothers me I think about it for a day or two and then suddenly I snap out of it and go out and party. Either I have found a resolution to the issue or I am kicking that issue out of my life. I recover very quickly and I don't let people get to me unnecessarily.

IMO, Cancers need someone to dote over them and make them center of the universe. Not in the way Leo's do *puke* but still. In my experience they get moody if you're world doesn't revolve around them. I would think fire might be good, they can keep the focus on their mate best in an overt kinda way... another water would be emo overload in my opinion and us earth's can be too independent which can be interpreted as distant and cold which results in Cancers feeling left out and 2nd tier (which they are 😛).

I think some of the most boring people in this planet are the earth signs 😛 Independent works as long as it is not just plain disrespectful and selfish. A lot of earth signs miss the balance there and just come across as self-centered.

lol 😛 this is a funny feel good thread/ funny banter.

I love Air/Water or Fire/Water or the reverse of those. Although I'm mostly fire/water I'm on the Gemi cusp with a Gem Saturn and lots of Uranus so ideas/ideals/concepts really get me going. I love hearing/expression emotions in that way.

Earth bores the tears out of me. They can be too stubborn and argumentative, with very little ability to listen and empathize without making it about themselves. Please don't force your thoughts down my throat, thank you. I appreciate your opinion.. but come on! I have 0 earth in my chart so I am attracted in some way and find Earth Moons very comforting.
