I have been a fan of Jared Leto since the show My So Called Life premiered on MTV many moons ago.

He's a strict Vegetarian. His family is Cajun (a group in Southern Louisiana), and he does yoga. So no, no botox, lol.

No, he's weird, socially awkward, very intelligent, eccentric, artistic, and appears to be rather introverted.

I had a crush on him simply for those reasons, surprisingly. I have a thing for eccentric introverts. I'm one myself. 😉

I haven't given a shit about hs band since the first album though, because after that one, they started to sound like everyone else. Suddenly, besides sounding like everyone else, there are a bunch of people making a huge deal over crap that is completely unrelated to the music such as his looks, how that female fan is such a slut because she's good looking and has big boobs and you are all idiots because you don't agree with me. Before and after Justin Bieber and One Direction fans, there were and will continue the Echelon from after the second album(that's when the stupidity and ignorance started running rampant).

I like a "Stranger in a Strangeland." from the album This is War.

Although the 1st album was the best album, the other albums were OK. The songs were not bad. The style was different, but I wouldn't say, 'badly commercial', just different.

This band is quite passionate, political, and satirical in the message they convey to the audience.

I don't get a pseudo-commercial vibe from this band (I listen to ALL types of music from artists, Nina Simone, to Nas, to Tego Calderon, to Bujubanton, to Citizen Cope, Fleetwood Mac) I have quite an eclectic ear.

In terms of capitalizing on his looks, I would blame that on the PR and Marketing team behind those record execs.

Something tells me 30 Seconds to Mars really don't give a fuck!

I don't really know if Jared himself tried capitalizing on his looks. I feel that cetain people just saw him one day and stupidly decided to focus primarily on that. The only way I can listen to their music is when they're performing it because it's very interesting to observe. If I see a musician having a good time, that's fun because as a musician, I know the feeling. If they were to make an acoustic album with songs from the second and third album WITHOUT PEOPLE SINGING ALONG, I would get it because that Unplugged concert was pretty damn awesome.

You're probably right about that.

The same thing happened to the artist D'Angelo. Exceptionally talented. Great songwriter and musician.
He was deem a sex symobol after the "How does it feel" video. More focus was placed on his looks, and less on his musical style . Great deal of public pressure. He was very uncomfortable with that 'label.'

Something tells me, so is Jared Leto.
