I got the same feeling when I met my taurus ex. I made the exact thoughts you wrote above.

It's like we had been in a relationship in a past life, I was feeling like I lost her back then in a sudden way (maybe she died because of a disease) and we came back together in this life.

This feeling is strange. Do you know Plato's theory about reincarnation?
I do not!

I asked a 'psychic' about my (now) ex and I and she said we knew each other in a past life. I felt an instant connection when I saw him, but he apparently did not. I'm not going to fool myself in to thinking there was anything more to it than that, especially since the other person does not agree.
Gotcha. That was my follow up question.

Is it always felt by both parties? Does it need to be?

Perhaps a person could be so closed off to their spiritual side that they wouldn't, but I'd like to believe that if it was important that it would be felt by both people. When I think about it, though, simply spending one past life with someone isn't all that special or important. If we were on the same life path, were twin flames, or spent multiple lives together, then I would hope it is something that has to be felt by both people.

In the end, if I'm the only person who feels that way I really can't verify my feelings. I could simply have good chemistry with the person or whatever else and it'd being mistaken as something it's not (spiritual connection, etc).

I believe in them. To do that you need to believe in reincarnation and many people do not whether because of religious beliefs or personal.

I also believe if you get a chance to do a past life session not with someone other than a psychic, you shouldn't tell the people in your life now what you or they were once before. It's a delicate subject.

and I would suggest doing a session for informational purposes getting over unexplainable fears and releasing blocks, understanding personal relationships. and be aware not everything will be rainbows and sunshine all the time so you might see things that you don't want to and you will not be able to unsee them.

It's weird.. this Cap chap and I met about 2-3 years ago.

After some thought and meditation, I realized he is only the second non-family member male I've ever loved. I've never told him this of course. Never felt the need to. Also it would probably freak him the fuck out.

I just find it interesting. Mostly because it wasn't like I was 'realizing' I loved him; more like I was simply remembering it. From before.

I do not believe in it... but I do think there's something to this 'knowing.'

I've met people that I knew immediately we were going to be friends,

because there was something about them that was familiar, and I

was inexplicably drawn to them... for whatever reason.

There have also been people that instantly repelled me... both reactions

are gut level (and as such, spiritual, imo).

oh yes. i felt this way with my husband, there's this feeling that he was waiting for me, and i was waiting for him from a past life, and we both loved eachother very much. I feel very much at "home" with him, like he is a family member and or close kinship, a husband before. I had that feeling too with my ex's, that i knew them in the past life as well. but the ex's felt more like karmic, that we crossed paths, there was a bond, a strong one but it was not healthy. And this lifetime it was to forgive what happened in the past, as well as this lifetime. (because the energies spill over) So my current man feels like the coming home to my beloved.
