What does this Cap want now?

So if you've read my precious threads, I was seeing a cap for about two months who ended it with me saying he met someone else AND pretty much didn't want me in his life as a friend at all... Even after my very friendly behavior towards him via texts. He said he was going to therapy because of depression and was no good around anyone. He did say he was romantically attracted to another girl so that was the end. I sent him one text each week for two weeks after he vanished just to check that he was still alive ( his depression was bad).

I asked to speak to him in person and had to wait because he wasn't psychologically ready to see me in person. He then texted me last Friday saying he was ready to talk now. Didn't get to see him due to schedule conflict over the weekend.

Just yesterday he asked if I wanted to spend Friday together "to do the things we said we would do but never got to" ie movies.

Wtf?

Crazy is what crazy does... Now who's the crazy here him or you? This has nothing to do with his sign and way more to do with his mental state.

Proceed at your own peril.

Well, I'd follow through with the talk. It might help you get some closure. I'd be leery about anymore or even dating at this point. He might be trying to climb back out into society, so it might be helpful to him to have someone to do something with. I'd just meet him there. Don't let it be a date.

He has depression who knows. What someone's mental state is until they get their medication right is never easy to predict.

Best advice stay away until he becomes more stable in his behaviors.

So should I turn down his invite?

Feels like he's just trying to be a friend though. I was the one who wanted to be friends 6 weeks ago now I feel bad cutting all ties.

To a point, I feel like I have lived what you are going through apart from I dated mine for a while before he went right down the hole of doom, and left me wondering wtf happened.

I don't know how strong a person you are, but after coming out the other end I can honestly say that as bad as I felt at the time (out of concern for him), severing all ties was the best thing I ever did. He ended up dating this girl who I was a bit suspect of their "friendship" after me, and from what he told me that recently ended (and he has reappeared in my life after over a year of no contact). He was looking mentally well, finally got himself to the point where he wanted to get help and is apparently regularly getting it. Good for him!

I have no idea why mine has made a reappearance - I am a bit fishy on that, but I can honestly say in hindsight, if I had remained his friend I would have ended up in a much worse state than I did. Because being friends would have crucified my self-esteem, and I would not have been able to get on with my life because I'd be harbouring feelings and waiting in some capacity for him to want to be with me again - not healthy! But that is me, and I'm a flitty, idealistic Libran though 😉

Please tread with caution, and do what is right for you. I promise you, you can't take on helping someone who a) doesn't want to help themselves, and b) take on fixing depression. No amount of compassion/understanding makes a difference when you see the empty look in their eyes.

Stay strong 🙂

I see nothing wrong with being friends with him. After the depression, it will do him good to get out and do something with a friend.

I was just saying be leery in entering into a relationship with him.

He said he wasn't romantically interested in me but he never really stayed friends with flings except for one girl from long time ago. He was suspicious of my intentions to be friends. I am 80% ok now but I don't know if he's trying to hang out to see if I'm over him. If that's the case then I'm for sure not going. Why doesn't he choose to spend this time with the girl he's seeing? He technically doesn't need me as a friend and I can't and won't force him to keep in touch.

He put me on restricted list on his Facebook, I find this to be extremely ridiculous bc I've stayed friends on the web and in real life with guys I had legit year long relationships with. I guess he does have a neurotic side?
