Anyhow ....a mutual friend, after weeks of pestering both of us finally convinced us to get in touch with each other, we started texting and spent several hours chatting that first night. He had to work the next morning (a Saturday) and knew I wouldn't be working so he invited me to come to his shop and go for a coffee, I had plans with my daughter so I told him I couldn't that day. However, by the time we said good night I decided I was going to surprise him the next morning and show up at his work.....There was an instant spark, connection, whatever you want to call it. It was very mutual. So I went about my day and my plans and later that evening when we were both home, we spent another evening chatting, but both kinda afraid to let the other one know how badly we wanted to see each other. He invited me over for coffee the next morning, he is just the sweetest man, he stood up and pulled me to my feet and danced with me in the living room just so he had an excuse to hold me close he said.....We ended up spending the entire day together, it was a wonderful day
Fast forward a week....He invited me over for a BBQ.....so I could meet his family! I was a little taken back because it was pretty fast, but then I remembered he is from Portugal so I thought maybe they do things differently, so I agreed and went. When introduced to his mom, I got a big hug and same as his sister and they started interacting with me like they had known me their whole lives. He later told me his mom adores me and his sister likes me too. He said those were the two he wanted approval from. I got it, LOL!
When I expressed my surprise that he introduced me so fast, his reply was " I mentioned to you before that when I thought I found my soul mate I would introduce them to my mom and sister for approval. I knew I found her 30 seconds after we locked eyes in the parking lot"
He is fiercely protective of me and always checking on me to make sure I am ok.
Now, from everything I have read this is not normal behaviour from a Gem guy? I have to admit that I have had the thought "this is just to good to be true" but then he has admitted he has had that very same thought LOL. I have an extensive vocabulary, and I cannot find the words to explain the feeling in the room when we are in a room together, nothing I have experienced before (And i'm not exactly a kid anymore LOL)
Oh and for the record: From some of the other posts I have read I know some may say he is trying to get laid. Well, while he has expressed great interest in that, he has also said and shown he is a gentleman and old fashioned and it will happen when the time is right....
