So I didn't know where to put this topic so I figured the health forum was the closest to my situation.

I went into a place to get a couple of sandwiches made for myself and my mom for lunch.

Immediately I zeroed in on a young guy who was fidgeting with his belt and he proceeded to wash his hands with no soap and he put on those little plastic flimsy gloves. I froze. I just froze. I even babbled a little out of embarrassment. Not sure why I was feeling embarrassed.

I whispered to him and asked him if he could use soap and he did and one of his co-workers kept asking what was wrong and I said hey listen I don't want to make this out to be a big deal so let's just get on with making those sandwiches. I rarely speak up like this in public. Still trying to figure out why I felt embarrassed LOL.

Has anyone else experienced something like this?

I didn't want to make him feel bad or embarrassed and yes he wore gloves but as Mohini mentioned he had to pull those gloves on with his no soap using hands.

Do men think it's okay to not wash their hands after touching their penis?

This is not a man bashing question by the way. Just curious.
Broscience. First you said "fidgeting with his belt", and now he's touching his peen?

Can you tell us what actually happened, and then we can better answer your dumbass question that implicitly assumes that gender may be correlated with views on hygiene?

That escaled quickly. I'm sure she derived her question from a reasonable theory that he probably pissed earlier that day and again, didn't use soap after and proceeded to put his belt on. In which so, he touched his pissy belt and transferred remenets of past pee on his " fressh glove " and onto your subway fresh sandwich.

But that's just my thought. Gender aside.

He fastened his belt as if he had been to the bathroom, proceeded to wash hands without soap and proceeded to touch gloves with unwashed hands as he put them on so I politely asked him to use soap and he did.

If a person proceeds to use the bathroom, touch penis and not wash hands there will be pee germs that will transfer to everything he touch thoughout the day especially if he's done this more than a few times during the day.

I'm just a strong believer in washing hands with soap after I touch my personal parts. I wash my hands to prevent cross contamination. If I touch uncooked meat I wash my hands after I'm done prepping. I wash my hands after touching a keyboard. I wash my hands before touching a patient in the hospital.

I'm not what I would define as a germaphobe but I know that not washing hands can cause illness and infection. It just irked me that he didn't use soap after using the bathroom.

Didn't he put on gloves?
Germophobia is real. He had to use his dirty hand to pull the glove on, therefore transferring germs on the glove ..
thinking about it gives me anxiety

Yep! Any time I go to get food made, I politely ask that they both wash their hands and change their gloves. Sometimes, they don't realize that the transference of (say, beef product onto a veggie product) is not sanitary for some. The crew now knows me and they actually remind each other to wash up and change gloves when serving me. It's great because they are accomadating (as I was when I worked in food service.) I also so my gratitude with both thanks a tips.
