lol leo! A swift kick is a good idea!

I wouldn't consider this a sign issue. Everyone has stress. Health issues are difficult to go through. All you can do is be there for him. Maybe remind him that those dumpy feelings aren't going to change his situation? I know, doesn't help much but what can you do. Saturn is in Leo right now too which can be pretty depressing/serious for some cats depending on the situation.

Why, do you have saturn in leo little sparrow?

truthseeker is awesome at describing saturn experiences, I wish she would friggon get her butt down here and post.

House position is important so this is just general.

Off the top of my head, Saturn is about restrictions and limitations. Having it go through leo means the leo themes are what is being tested during this time frame. For a leo, this means an extreme time of focus and responsiblity. The urge to be in the spotlight can disappear and bigger priorities take over. When it was exactly conjunct my sun I had no urge to socialize, I was low on energy. Kinda lost my sense of humor. Everything had a serious tone. And all I could focus on was my work, son and finances. Also, little things I had been neglecting were kinda forced out into the open. It's easier for me to describe through personal experience. I think it's harder for hard core Leos to go through this because Leo is such a freedom loving sign and saturn is like a jail cell IF you are not prepared for it. A saturn experience can either help someone focus OR if someone doesn't have their shit together it can make life extremely hard and depression can set in. Because for this person the list if responsibilies are a lot higher because they have been ignored. The lesson for leo to learn is to accept limitations, which is almost impossible for some. Especially when circumstances force you to. And we all know how much leos like to be forced into something.

For the leos who are prepared for it I think it can bring out our organizational skills a lot better. Also adds a lot of ambition.

I feel kinda silly explaining this since I know it's been explained here before. But oh well.

Oh. And you're welcome little sparrow.

He's in the middle of his Saturn return. It's actually on it's way out. People usually come out of this a lot stronger. And it's usually a time when someone realizes "I've grown up" Read back a few pages on the leo board and you will see more posts and explanations on it by another poster.

No water crab. But he already has natal Saturn conjunct his sun so this transit just intensifies what he already has. He must feel like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders right now. This could also make someone extremely responsible by nature if channeled correctly.

He has these placements in his 3rd house and also had his transit take place here. The 3rd house rules over communication, school life (growing up maybe) and short distance travel. It is also ruled by mercury and someones mental attitude (in tandem with his actual mercury in Virgo). I can see how he has to really fight any negative thinking, Saturn places a choke hold on a Leo. A Saturn transit to the 3rd can make someones thinking process a little muddy as it is. It looks as if this could be something he struggles with always.

What would be interesting to know is how he felt about school growing up. Ask him and then tell me if his face gets all serious right after you ask. Tell me what happens.

I know none of this helps. And I'm sorry. But maybe it will help you understand him a little bit better. He is a serious thinker by nature it seems. The intensity of it shouldn't last much longer since it is moving away in degrees. You also have to keep in mind this is only an explanation by astrology. Just be there for him.

kris,

Any Virgo placement is a good thing in my eyes: ) I'm faaaaar from expert though.

On the downside, moon in Virgo can bring a lot of nervous energy, especially in emotional situations. For some, the more intense the feelings are the more chatty you get. Like a nervous tick lol! ...This is what I've noticed in real life anyway. This can make someone worry a little too much about small things. On the upside, this placement can make someone very rational and practical. Also, good for being able to sort out all the little details of someones problems. Virgo placements like to tend to others, a good thing for a leo to have. It's important for you to stay busy.

Thanks purrfect.

I have asked him about his school life/growing up. He was a sick child with severe allergies that went away as he got older. He got involved in sports and in highschool he was a gifted althlete. He played baseball in HS which earned him a scholarship to college. He also played basketball for a league sponsored by his church (his mother is a minister). He is also a gifted talented musician who plays keyboards, drums and saxaphone (he is a blues/jazz/gospel musician). In college he became a member of one of the most respected africian american fraternities in the country whose members include Thurgood Marshall and Martin Luther King, Jr. Towards the end of college two major incidents happened. One involved a family member being attacked and the other was the reoccurrence of the allergies that plaqued him as a child which now included a chronic skin disease. Also he was set to go to the minors but something happed. He wont tell me what it was.

At 30 he now lives at home with his parents, hustles up gigs around town (we live in Chicago), and is consummed with getting well (he has a sever skin condition that covers his entire body in addition to the severe allergies) Some would think that he had so much promise. To me he still does...he is a good man and sometimes I feel so sad for him I cry (typical cancer)but never in front of him.

Now to answer your question, I have asked him about this time and have noted a few things. He does not talk that much about the academics, his face is kinda stoic, but he does talk with excitement about baseball. Even now when he is down he will go to a field and practice his pitching. He REALLY misses playing. When he reflects on his college days he reflects on them with mixed feelings. Happy when talking about his frat but stress and frustration about everything else. He jokes about the fact that because he was an althete, he got so much sex in HS and College, "ho's love talent" he once told me.
