I'm jusht a social drinker," slurs Libra, "it's jusht that I'm so damn social?" Libra loves nothing more than to party, mingle and relate to everyone. Whether dipped in favor of Good Libra (with Insta-Friend device set to "on") or heavier on the Evil Libra side (they are little instigators when bored), the Scales can really work a room. Charming as they are, Libras are notoriously lacking in self-control, however, which can get them into all sorts of trouble -- including wearing their wobbly boots waaaay too early in the evening, flirting with their best friend's beau or even blacking out the night's events entirely. Oops!

This is me. I but very rarely drink to the point I get drunk. But, I am a lush. My girlfriend and I usually have a few rum and cokes or whisky and cokes a night a couple hours before bed. When at parties I get a good buzz going and maintain it for the evening. I like to loosen up and get myself in a bit of trouble, but be cognizant enough to keep the ones I came with from getting in too much too. I am also a big flirt and huge instigator.

I don't drink often. But when I drink then I drink. Because what's the point in one drink? Just pointless calories. Although I am beginning to appreciate a good glass of wine.

I do agree we are social drinkers. I go out often and as a social drinking I imagine 1-5 drinks per evening/party. Although it might be more I always walk home by myself and dont remember being drunk seriously. But self control can be problem sometimes, although it just usually means I flirt openly with much more girls than I should what can do a bad picture about me.

I agree with Libra, I also appreciate a good wine. Besides that, I am a big fan of classic bitter cocktails.

I love my Libra, but if I could ask that he modify one thing it would be his drinking. When we first dated, he drank like a fish...consuming 6 or more beers in an evening. I understand social drinking, because I do it...but that many beers in a 4 hour timeframe is a lot in my opinion.

He has cut back when he goes out with me, on his own accord, which is good. I have not made any comments about his drinking because the decision to cut back ultimately has to be his...I do worry a bit when he goes out with his friends because he admits he drinks more when I'm not around...he's going on a road trip with 4 of his buddies in October and he is already planning how many ice chests to bring and which beers to stock up with. LOL

At the beginning of our relationship, my boyfriend, me, a few of his friends, and 2 of my girlfriends when to a baseball game. My girlfriends and I met up with them at the ballpark and he'd already had a few drinks at the bar across from Minute Maid Park so he was a bit lit. Libra_Man is right about openly flirting...my boyfriend did that right in front of me with one of my girlfriends and I was taken aback. My girlfriend (another Taurus) finally started ignoring him because the flirting was so obvious it was making both her and me uneasy.

He apologized for that and said he didn't mean to be flirting; it's just that he had a lot to drink and he was trying to be friendly to my friends and get to know them. To this day, he still has a flirty quality about him - but it's just the Libra charm.

I think the reason our flirting can be problematic is our style of flirting. I and other Libras I know don't come accross as openly hitting on other people, we just use our charm and quick tounges to keep people on their toes is the best way to describe it. I am a very non threatening flirt, and subtle a lot of the time the person I am flirting with can't easily tell I am flirting, usually it is other people whom notice it. I am careful not to make others feel uncomfortable when flirting...then the purpose is defeated as really I am just trying to get people to loosen up and laugh and smile.

I seem to have a very dissarming nature about me, usually others are really receptive to my playfulness and they are the one to step it up a notch and I have to make he line so to speak.

LOL!

If I am openly hitting on someone, I come across as openly hitting on someone. My favorite move is to kick a chair towards a man and tell him to sit down, look away coyly, and then throw him the smile.

I am usually the instigator. If shit goes down it was me saying yes ... I really think you should do that. It is a brilliant idea, get up on the bar and do a striptease, etc. But this is why people like going out with me. Anything can happen.

People take themselves way to seriously. I give them permission to play.

oh dear. This one hits close to home. I am always being told by my friends that I was flirting with so-and-so and got angry at somebody else. I am just coming through a good 4 year fog of drinking too much. Not to say I'm an alcholic, I don't consider myself to be one. But when I do drink, I get myself in trouble on occasion and so I'm learning to drink less.

"I am usually the instigator. If butter goes down it was me saying yes..."

HAHHA!!!! Boy do I know what you mean. I usually instigate, then tease to the point of no return and then back off and they turn to the aggressor. It removes my liability. If butter goes down, it was them asking.

oh brother now this is a subject i like
me and my brother from another mother the libra can drink some serious buzz
no miller lights or none of that crap, we stick to high end spirits ( all of them ) and good beers
so just this saturday at a bday party we were having scotch, tequila, yegabombs, vodka, and beer for chaser, lol dont ask me how many shots and drinks, lets just say a lot, bartender is our good friend and he makes the drinks stiff and just keeps them coming lol
so when the libra get drunk he instigates like crazy and im always the first one to pick up on it and go with it, so he starts and i end up doing stupid shit hahaha
and he gots to have his music
we love to drink, we built up such a tolerance we can drink like that all the time, passes out somewhere on the couch and do it all over again
just this weekend we partied from sat 9pm till monday 1am im freaking tired now lol
i noticed that the libra likes to overindulge on things too , like buzz, food, maybe some recreational drugs of choice but to my relief he cut the last one out and is done with that part of his life

I'm a libra girl, and I love to drink and party...recently I started talking to an aqua guy, who is Irish and who also loves to drink! All of the times we have hung out have pretty much involved drinking...unless we're at work which is at a bar/restaurant...so there are times where drinking goes on after work! WE have been talking for about 2 months...I enjoy talking to him any time...but it's like everytime we decide to hang out, I think we both get nervous and feel alcohol is necessary to have a good time...or it could just be the libran drinking gene inside me...but I wonder if this is just a ME quality, or typical...I'm starting to think it's a slightly abnormal to always need alcohol to feel comfortable with this guy! hmm...just a thought

I dunno, the Libra I was seeing drank to excess and EVERYTIME we got together he would need to drink...he was quite shy and very reserved when he hadn't been drinking...like a scared little schoolboy LOL.....when he drank he seemed to open up and seemed to relax more....quite sad really 😢 Good fun though but it cannot be healthy.

He would sit at home and just drink and chat online to all and sundry for hours....it is his escape from the real world and I dont think he believes he belongs in the real world at all. i think if he could hide away and get paid for it, he'd happily do so.

That's another thing....do all Librans just hide away for days/weeks at a time?? I would get so bored sitting at home doing nothing exciting.
