Time to Be a True Libra

Today cemented that I just need to be the way I am at work in my personal life. Too much bending over backwards for people who seem to forget who you are shortly after. I'm slowly learning why a lot of Libra's act the way people describe on this board. Fellow Libras start worrying about number one no one else is going to do it for you.

Duh.

It's cool that you guys do what you do for others, but you have to draw the line because dick heads will take advantage of that and use it against you.

You don't have to go extreme and focus solely on you, because that's a bit much. But you should be a bit more selective in who you bend over backwards for.

I keep it at helping those who have helped me, or helping those who I know will return the favor some day- not solely for the reason that they return favors, but because they'll most likely help out later on if I need it. I don't mind helping others out once in awhile, but it gets to be draining to have people around who come to you for all sorts of shit but on the off chance you need some help in return, they're nowhere to be found. There's no reason to keep people around who are like that.

I learned young, though. My parents were always reaching out to help whoever, and they always ended up helping these fucked up people that fucked us over in return. I couldn't understand why they couldn't pick up on these shady jack asses. Helping and being there is fine and nice, but you gotta be careful anymore as a lot people are self serving douchebags.

Thanks all! Yeah I'm not saying I am going to always put myself first and screw the consequences, but I've seen in the last year I've stop even considering how I felt about a situation. Way too much going with the flow thinking it would lead where I wanted to. I noticed I had changed in the past few years and that had landed me a group of people who when I was younger I wouldn't have still talked to. Years ago people had to earn the right to call me a friend since I treat friends like family. 3 am and you call me I'm out the door to wherever you are for whatever you need. That had worked fairly well since my core group are amazing people who would do the same for me. My mistake was widening that circle and letting just about anyone in. Either way, that time is over now.

A Libra who does not know how to "balance" and not bend over backwards is pretty much useless. Not everyone is a friend. Not everyone is worthy. I think Libra find it hard to make the distinction. Therein lies their downfall
