First, thanks to everyone for the well wishes for my interview. That meant a lot to me!!
I know I said I would be on a bit more, but life has continued to be hectic (and it seems will continue that way for a couple more months). Last week, I had to finish up getting my information to the company that I interviewed with the week before. And, it seems that things are looking up. They submitted their official offer to me Friday night, and I faxed back my acceptance that night. So, as of this point, I am Phoenix bound... 🙂
My start date is Sept. 24, so I have 3 weeks to finish my packing, get and train a replacement, get my butt to Phoenix, and get situated. It was a little overwhelming at first, but I am trucking right along with my little lists (would really be bad to forget something).
I am going to be a bit busy for the next 3 weeks, obviously, but I will try to pop on and see how everyone is doing. Once I get to Phoenix, things should slow down a bit, but I am still going to have to find a place and have my furniture and stuff moved from Dallas to Phoenix. One step at a time... I am going to be staying at a friend's place until we find a place of our own. I have been looking online a bit, but really want to get a feel for life in Phoenix before I decide.
Anyway, that is what is up with me... How is everyone else doing?
KennyG...where in Az are you, I live in Phoenix....250 miles you have to be near the boarder of another state as Phx is right in the middle of the state and AZ isn't that big.
My mom and step father live in Southern Az near the St. David/Tombstone area....nice out there but not enough going on for me.
Awesome news Alcheme!!! I too am happy for you...thank you for sharing your good news with us...we miss you!!! Wish you all the best with the move, finding your own place, etc 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Al', I love Phoenix. I think you'll do very well there. I'm at a point in my life I can move anywhere at any time. I've thought about Seattle, Portland and Phoenix.
al, I will probably have an opportunity to fly down to Mesa this winter. It would be a blast to see you. I'll know better in late October / early November.
Al', So happy for you! Good time to move. I usually get closer to Christmas time before visiting my buds in the Phoenix area. So if that happens this, I'll let you know.
QS, you are always more than welcome to visit anytime girl. I am thinking that ATL will still be good choice for you. How is the progress on that possibility coming?
aTom, thanks! NP. Just let me know and maybe we can hook up. My roommate and I are thinking about going back to Texas for Christmas, or perhaps skiing, but the Christmas season should be fine. If you come down on Nov 28, you can go with me and a few of my friends to see Ozzy and White Zombie, if you like that kind of music. If not, either way, let me know and we can definitely try to do some hanging out... It sounds like a blast!
Chatz and Sola, you are always welcome to come, too. A DXP get together really would be fantastic... LOL!

I am doing good. Bought a car last Tuesday, and drove into Phoenix (got there on Wednesday, 18 hour drive). I have been trying to get settled, and my soon-to-be roomie and I have been looking for a place. And, obviously, I have been doing the "obligatory" partying with everyone that wanted to celebrate my finally making it to Phoenix.
I started my job yesterday. So far, I think that I am really going to like it. I thought I wouldn't once I found out how conservative the rest of the company is, but my team rocks. Everyone of them is a different, and it seems to work. We all seem to cover the spectrum of nerdiness...tie / MBA nerd, video game nerd, buff / incognito nerd, everyday nerd, and now me...I have yet to figure out which nerd group I fit into / represent... Anyway, every few Fridays, we apparently have "team building" which was explained as playing video games on the network or leaving early to go catch a movie together. My new boss is really great, and amusingly enough, a Libra. All things considered, that explains a lot about the interview and why I got the job. LOL! The tie / MBA nerd is apparently a Scorpio. This will be the first time I have worked with a Scorpio guy. It should be interesting. I am not quite sure of the others birthdays, but I am working on it...
Anyway, just wanted to pop in and give you another update and say hi. How is everything going for everyone else?
i'm glad you're settling in and having fun. what kind of car did you get? team building can be fun. i highly recommend paint ball.
things are going ok with me. things are a little rocky right now with me and my boyfriend but i think it's just a natural thing since we spend so much time together.
Hey Alch. I assumed you were pretty busy with the move in all. Life sounds great!!! Unfortunately there will be no moving anywhere outside of Chicago for me for a very long time, or until this divorce is final and my ex agrees to let me take our child and move to another state. Which he has already disagreed to. Other than that I could go to jail for kidnapping unless I filed for sole custoday (which in a way I am considering). 😢 Looks like I am Chicago Bound for awhile. I hate that, but I am making the best of it for now.
The problem is, I can't move to another state outside Chicago, without his consent according to a lawyer I spoke to unless I was granted sole custody, which they say he would have to be a very neglegent father for this to happen and I can't agree that he is.
Not much is new... Working, working out, trying to get everything taken care of, partying, dancing, and drinking (and, yes, sleeping was skipped for a reason). It has been great, though. I keep trucking right along...exhausted, sore, and absolutely neurotic (though, that is nothing new).
QS, I am sorry to hear about your issues with your ex. That just truly sucks. You will be in my thoughts. You will get through this, sweetie, and come out even stronger and in an even better place than had you not.
aTom / QS / Sola / Chatz / HP, you guys are more than welcome anytime. I would love to get a chance to hang out with you in person!! Just give me a little warning... My dance card and planner seem to already be booked up weeks in advance. LOL!
