I forgot to tell u, i got 4th place (out of 20 couples ) in salsa comp. 😄, i learned some new steps basically 1 hour before the competition started. I think that saved us 😄 :p

Let me see if I can give you a better explanation

-2|-2 - (-7)| - |3| = 193?

|-2-(=7)| This resolves into +5

-|3| this resolves into 3

So with that said you should be looking at

-2(5)-3

Multiplication first, thus -2 * 5 = -10. Then add the -3 for a total of -13

But VH, you're saying that |-2-(-7)| should be 5 because -(-7) would be +7. |-2+7|.. but wouldn't that then be 9 because of the absolutes?

|-2+7|
Resolve the inside before you apply the absolute value
So -2 plus 7 = 5. Then apply the absolutely value which does't make a difference in this case and it still remains 5

Pro tips:
1. Remember PEMDAS
2. When it comes to absolutes, resolve the inside first, then apply the absolute.

1 and 2 you NAILED. Good job.

Give 3 another shot. If you get stuck walk me through your thought process.

Haha one of the things they make us do in the fire stations in this part of the country is all the rooks have to "present" lessons to the other firefighters. In short they're developing our skills in public speaking and educating others.

The thing is you're in a situation where the guys you're presenting to KNOW what you're talking about so they're just giving you shit the entire time. Toughens you up 😄. Conversely, God HELP you if you get something wrong.

Getting to this point was PERFECT. You resolved the inside of each absolute as you should have.

Once you get to that point, apply the absolute to each term giving you....

17 - 18
Giving you -1.

#3 was my "pain in the ass problem" so you did pretty damn good getting as far as you did.

A lot of the same concepts apply in software development. You'll often see a lot of software programs with a lot of parenthesis. They kind of use the same rules with operators.

Anyway, I just came home and did a little work tonight. I was thinking about starting on my next project, but I may as well wait for tomorrow. My brain has been active today. Tonight while trying to get to sleep, I'll sit back and brain storm a little. Plus fumbling through it will give me something to do and keep me off of DXP.

During my date last Friday with the Taurus, I asked her if she would accept my facebook request if I sent her one. She said "sure" as long as I didn't say anything obscene on her wall. Anyway, never sent the request till today. I sent it and signed out of facebook for the night, so who knows if she accepted it. I won't check my facebook again until I get off of work tomorrow, just seeing as I can resist the urge to see if she accepted. Have to learn discipline

Anyway, I'll go ahead and look at some pool tournaments for the rest of the night, those are normally good at putting me to sleep.

Haha I used to LOVE playing pool. Grab my cue, head to the seedy ass pool hall. Throw in a few dollars in the juke box. Enjoy the night.
