Woof* Woof*

Looking into buying a dog so I can jog with him & teach him to chase the mailman. Plus my cat won't be bored at home all day by herself.

Yes I have a cat.

Anyway, what breed do you guys recommend

I have experience

Thinking about getting an American Akita

Post pics if possible
Adopt.. don't buy.

Don't be a dick

Alright green peace

If it was up to me I'd allow dogs to freely roam the streets & offer them all a plate of spaghetti from the dumpster like that one movie

But Yea this dick will defiantly not have a mutt on the end of his leash

Get a Shiba Inu! Smaller version of Akita - less temperamental - super adorable and entertaining dog

Very clean like a cat almost

Energetic but not spazzes

Stay perfect weight - I've not really ever seen an obese one

Very smart - easy to train, even though they can be stubborn - you just have to be consistent

Only thing is they typically don't get along with other dogs so you have to be wary of that

Doberman, German Shepherd if you want an intelligent guard dog that won't just rip anything that walks past to shreds.

If you want a loyal but tough looking dog that might just lick an intruder to death try a Staffordshire bull.

Loads of muscle but completely harmless.. well depending on how you train it of course.

For America here are the differences between your native Staffy Bull and ours.

Someone gave me an american pit puppy a few months back but I gave it to a friend

I didn't have the patience to deal with its inability to follow direction.

And when Id yell she'd tuck tail

I think they make good family dog

I think there's a story about an owner dying & the akita showed up to the same bus stop everyday or something

a blue heeler! i have a blue heeler x border collie & he is the best pup everrrrr. we've been together for 11 years ?

he is active & so so smart. i've taught him crazy tricks like picking up my laundry & opening the back door to let himself out.

blue heelers are super loyal. they are also known as a shadow dog cuz they follow you everywhere. they also live a looooong time. i heard that the oldest dog is a heeler, at age 24.
Awe so cute

I heard this dog is pretty smart

Hope you guys have many years to come

Border collie

Belgian Malinois

German Shepherd

Australian Shepherd

Doberman Pinscher

I love working class dogs and I envy the fact you have a large backyard solely because I want a medium sized dog and a swing set for my future broodlings.
That doesn't seem like a lot to ask for

I'm sure you can make it happen

Just don't ale it happen with a toy poodle like the guy on page 1

I have a mix - we don't know what she's mixed with but her mom was purebred Shiba

She's the best dog ever seriously

Such low maintenance - doesn't need a ton of attention but will cuddle if you want

Never goes to the bathroom in the house unless she's really sick and can't help it (happened maybe twice in her life)

Loves walks but is also cool with hanging out in the backyard

Loves everyone she meets - you can do anything to her and she will never growl, snarl, flinch

Fights other dogs though

But just look at these faces ♥️♥️

I love Shiba Inus, they're so cute. I've seen some in America, but I've seen soooo many cute ones when I was in Japan. It's their Chihuahua lol

Ha yep I probably follow 90% of the Japanese Shibas on instagram
