I am in the most extreme form of escapism I have ever experienced .

This started coming on before lock down but lockdown has made it even worse. All I want to do is sleep I can’t be productive in any kind of way. I don’t know who I am or what I want and I don’t know what my life is going to look like after this. It also makes me feel bad that I am depressed because there are people who are losing their lives every single day. I am two hours from New York City where people are just dropping and I just can’t stay awake long enough to be alive when people would kill to be alive. I’m not really coming here to seek advice. I just need to say these things out loud.

With the world in the state that it’s in right now, plenty are feeling the same way as you. Especially with jobs being lost and friends or family members dying.

Just know that you are not alone.

You’re doing what you can to stay safe. I don’t think anyone is being very productive at home, unless they are still working. And that’s ok, and even expected.

This is a small part of your life. Even if it last 6 months, it’s a small wrinkle in time, in comparison.

This will get better.

You can always write out a list of what you plan to do once this is over, with your future or in a career. You have a clean slate, you can map out a few ideas or paths for your life.

Even have fun and try mapping out fantasy ones. You can go into detail about how you will make it happen.

This can give you a little pep in your step and give you a boost in ambition.
