Perhaps that's what does it.. That instinctive dislike of the status quo (for lack of a better word) in expression.. whether painting, or whatever the manner. It might stimulate you to find your own way.. knowing..what you definitely don't like. I've heard surealism.. (I think dripping clocks like Dali.. not sure I'm right though...) and impressionism.. seemed to always be these.. park scenes.. "picnickers".. bright pastels.. So, I'm really lost trying to combine the two in my head. Define "distrubing".. are there recognizable shapes expressed in your canvasses?

Yeah... Well... My favorite one that I did was a portrait of a woman holding a mask up to her face... Her hair was half dreadlocks and half red strait hair... and she had green skin... and I had a sort of light dark opposite colors going on which sepperated the picture in half... and I had a sun moon design over the eyes on the mask, the eye on the sun side was closed and the eye on the moon side is open... it balances it out very well... but I think people think the contrasting colors are too intense and that the mask is being held up by hands... some people thought that the hands were holding up a severed head... oh well... I like to do a lot of dark versus light in my pictures, and a lot of the human forms are very worped and in weird possisions... Dark angels, people find scary... Just odd things in general...
