The expression, "One man's trash is another man's treasure", still stands true. Just because something is no longer valuable to someone does Not mean that it is not valuable to another person. Giving of clothes, caned food, furniture, household items and anything that is good to the less fortunate is constructive and does more good. Not to mention it also frees up the space in your house which is also good. : D. There are a lot of families which have lost their jobs and spouses which rely on charity giving to get back on their feet. Charity Cars help provide cars to those families so they can have reliable transportation to work (so they no longer have to be running late waiting on the city bus), school and any where else that would be difficult for them to travel if they had not received a car.

^^^All the material things you can give won't come close to giving someone the gift of empowerment and learning to look after themselves. If this would happen once and the person would learn from it, I'd agree. But it creates a vicious cycle where you are left relying on others. It's hard to break away from that because it's psychologically induced. Think of Pavlovian reflexes: You set the environment (the need for charity for a person) and then you introduce that. Short term, it helps. Long term, each time someone will find themselves in a bind, they will automatically backtrack to this and ask for help again. It's learnt behavior by then.
This all sounds so much like a politician speech aqualove. Full of ideas but no real life experience. A lot of appeals ad misericordiam.

I really hope this isn't one of those debates where the victor, whomever that will be, gets chosen out of personal bias. Since I see a lot of appeal to soul and mercy in my opponent's speech and not enough logic.

As for my typing...I typing dxp is not college. I don't have to prepare a well written APA style paper for dxp. I am not going to grace you with perfect typing in a message like this either.
