Sorry to those of you who listen to Dubstep or Hip Hop shit and don't know an artist that plays actual instruments. 😄
Best ones IMHO were Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich
Neil can play damn near any style of music and has a much better perception of time, endurance and precision than Rich or Moon.
I'm not really a fan of drummers, only drummer I can name is stewart copeland
Not going to.go back far and rather stick to newer stuff. Yes the older drummers are better, yes I know the older drummers are better. Did I mention I know the older drummers are better?
David Grohl (Nirvana)
Travis Barker (Blink 182)
I like bass more but my favorite drummer will be Chad Smith from Red Hot Chili Peppers
I agree, Neil Peart ftw. A true renaissance man, too. F'in amazing.

Peart is very good, but I've never been much of a fan of his sound. Musicality is just as important as skill. Not a Rush fan at all.
I prefer a warmer sound. I think Bonham had more musicality and feel for the groove than Peart.
The level of musician ship by Rush is fucking insane, Just listen to YYZ or La Villa Strangiato. Neil's drumming style changes throughout their careers, Neil constantly adds and removes pieces for his set, his drumming technique changes and he even trained with Freddie Gruber to re-invent his playing style.
Seeing then on the R40 Tour was painful as well as a delight, he's in his early 60's and has chronic tendonitus. He wasn't very focused, his timing was off and at one point he skipped 45 seconds ahead and started playing the chorus in the middle of the 2nd verse.
He's seen better days but he's still the best drummer in the history of rock, as well as the best alive.
