Health-wise, Is there a difference between having having a hot temper based on say cultural / genetic / or even astrological factors, and having aggression problems based on bad enviroment / upbringing / stress factors, as in not being able to cope with what life throws at you and taking it out on yourself and others, etc.

The latter is conditioned through outer factors, while the first is genetically inherited, right? So is being cool and mellow really healthier than having a hot temper, if we're talking about "natural" hot-headedness?

Well I usually have a stoic demeanor on the outside, which many people wouldn't associate with a black person. But I do have a lot of suppressed anger inside me and I feel that it is unhealthy for people to suppress their rage.

I find black men to be rather stoic. Of course, like with any race of people, there are exceptions. I agree that suppressing anger is unhealthy, that's why it's important to have a healthy outlet to channel all that energy.

Yeah most of my uncles are stoic, but most people paint blacks as emotional, demonstrative people. And as for suppressed anger, a lot of school shootings, murders stem from suppressed anger. It is toxic for humans, especially males to not have an outlet for their anger.

I hear you. There are definitely more hurdles for men when it comes to emotional expression.

I mean us guys should express our anger when it is necessary, but guys should not cry or be too sensitive.

Of course not. Because crying and showing sensitivity will take away from your masculinity and make you less of a man. Then no woman could love you, and all men would shun you, and society would deem you as unworthy and incompetent with nothing to contribute to the world and so you'll be relegated to doing mindless, menial jobs that all feeling men should be made to do as not to mix with the real, true men of the planet that make the world go 'round.

Health-wise, tension is tension whether it's a person's natural disposition or whether it's brought on by outer circumstance and stressors. The adverse effects on the mind and nervous system would be the same.

Yeah but if they come from a hot-headed culture, surely the nervous system would have adapted to that type of "stress" since it's inherited and not based on outer factors... altough the reaction itself is obviousely triggered by outer factors. Just like you have positive and negative stress, I'm thinking not all aggression must necesserily lead to decrease in health?

But yeah aggression based on anxieties, insecurities, etc. is definitely unhealthy, no question about it. That's what I call "unnatural" aggression, bc it's been building up overtime. You don't have it in your system to begin with.

Meanwhile, everyone else in proximity has to suffer, because he won't see a specialist & put an end to these ongoing tantrums once and for all; has been fired from multiple jobs & burned bridges following said outbursts.

If the temperament makes you socially handicapped then you should definitely seek help, yes.

What's is sign btw?
(This is an astrology forum after all 😛 )
