Posted by PVAFDeuxPosted by AccountzWould you tell ppl u worked with for along time that ur moving to another dept & shift or just wait until you transfer?
Would you stop associating or being friends with someone because they have bed bugs?
I would tell my coworkers a few days or a week or so before the transfer. Unless you don't like them, in which case fuck 'em let them figure it out after you move. Though I've never known anyone in an office to be able to hold water so most likely by the time you tell them you are transferring everyone will already know.
If someone had bed bugs I wouldn't stop associating with them, but I would make sure they are in treatment process for that and be cautious of them coming into my home. Those things like to travel, maybe we can eat out together for a while.

In agreement w this.

No, but I'm fond of touching or being physically close with people anyway.
👀
Fond or not fond?
Well bedbugs, I think I might. It’s gross. But I can understand people can easily pick them up while traveling. How long was the friendship? Is this a work relationship? It shouldn’t have even been discussed if so.
Me moving to another department, I’d tell them the week of. Not too soon, not too late.
Go directly to HR dept and report the bed bugs. Tell them you want to remain anonymous.
Bed bugs are no joke. The company could be facing huge loses if those things spread to papers/books, furniture, other coworkers who sue, etc.

Typo: not

I found the typo kind of funny 😆 😜
Nope, I'd tell once the transfer has been announced by HR. That's just my kind of practice, I'm down to discuss it afterwards with my closest co-workers.
And I'd give the side eye to whoever would be offended... Business is business first.
Bed bugs.....😷
I'm kind of a clean freak... That is terrifying to me... We can talk and text on the phone 🙈
Posted by nanobotYes I would tell them and not necessarily end the friendship, but I would not want to be around them anymore physically, so I would be avoiding them in that way
That’s my thing I think they r going to have them for awhile and I don’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable after they confided in me. Weird huh?

It’s at there home.
Posted by blvckphvseI am confused and don't know how anyone has been giving you answers without asking this.. But what does one have to do with the other? Are these two separate things? Someone you work with that has the bed bugs? Is that why you are switching departments?
In regard to the first part, I don't see why you'd wait to tell your co workers that you were switching, if you aren't close to them no big deal I guess, but if you've made friends it would be nice to maybe give them a heads up.
I am not sure if the bed bugs are related to someone you work with or just a friend.. but it sounds like quite a stretch to stop being friends with someone because they got bed bugs :/ I mean, I for sure wouldn't be going over to their house and likely wouldn't want to have them at mine until they got the situation under control.. but I would think they should understand that.. If you had bed bugs you likely wouldn't be expecting people to come over, but I'm sure it would be hurtful for someone to stop being your friend over something like that..
It was separate but not the reason I’m leaving the dept. the problem was I don’t think they were going to do anything about them anytime soon.

If it was you who this happened to- you talk too much. Try and keep negative business to yourself. You don’t have to tell people everything that goes on in your life.
Specially things that spread to others.
Sorry it happened though. But it’s a lesson learned, I guess.

I am also scratching my head...WTF?
😂😂😂
Posted by ClairDeLuneI would keep an open communication that way you at least gave a proper heads up and they'll be able to balance themselves without you.
I would cut that shit immediately. Bed bugs are satan's spawns and shows huge concern for hygiene and care. Kind of shows a lack of care in many ways
Not true! Bed bugs is epidemic wordwide. My friend works for Terminix and he does projects as well as wealthy areas the same.
It’s outdated opinion that bed bugs are from uncleaneness...
