If a thread is over a certain number of pages do you just not read it?

I find myself doing that... regardless of if it is a "hot topic" anyone else do this? 5 pages? maybe more than 10 pages?

I was asking if these quotes can be shortenedn. No answer so far

Depends.If I'm really looking for some answers I'd read as many pages as it may take.I remember reading 45 or more pages straight ..it was TLS' thread.N there were few other threads where I read till the end. Doesn't depend on how "hot" the topic is . Depends on how much I need it. Else I'll just read the posts(replies) of the users who I think would make some sense n browse randomly through the rest.

You dont answer a topic if theres more than 5 words...or respond to a reply more than once...?

If it has crazy good drama then I'll use it for reading material while I'm on the toilet or bored, and try to finish it throughout the day. Normally people post ALL day on DXP though, so it's often impossible to catch up with it all, especially during the week I just can't.

Lol! I haven't read CC advice post since the 30's. I wouldn't attempt to read that much at this point

The first thread I read on dxp.That thread was partly a reason I joined dxp. It kinda makes me cringe a bit now.But still undeniably my fav thread.

If the title is bad or the OP is an obvious troll then no. At some point people need the grow the fuck up and realize there is no way you can truly win on the internet. No matter what you know or say all information can be blown out of proportion, twisted, or distorted. Most people reading get the wrong idea and hold on to false or pointless information. It's mostly due to not seeing body language, which is the most important aspect of communication imo. No one knows what is fake and what is seriousness. Everything just looks like a fucking joke. The rest of the readers just get annoyed by it, or find entertainment in the petty bs. Essentially it just makes everyone less intelligent.



So no I don't read them or really even join in. It gets to a point where everyone taking place in them looks sad or desperate, which is exactly why one would there in the first place. With that being said my point has been made. Now you will think a thread that is long is a bad thing, which isn't always the case. Those who read on the internet are the true victims, and the more false or hugely opinionated information the easier it is.
