And I'm just so grateful because, I went from this

There was no God on my side... Only my time, my experiences, and my ambition.

I'm only 22 years-old and at this age I couldn't receive an independent FASFA until I was 24... My bitch ass father didn't want to give up his tax information and help me outlive my dreams, and my mother already has student debt loans and I know she would help me if she could... I couldn't get financial aid unless I proved I was emancipated, or homeless and alone.

Those of you that are nosey as fuck and love to throw my past in my face; already know that I battled homelessness and once live in my car last year.

I was able to fill out a FASFA based off this information and proof.

So now I'm school training to be an Automotive Technician in the Collison Repair Industry.. I just started last week and I'm very passionate about this. I have always had a love for cars... I detail cars every year spring through summer. I attend Chicago's auto show annually. I love that I am in this school.

It's one of the best technical institutes in Illinois.

I'm trynna get out. I'm looking for a nice stable job at the moment. I don't want to sell weed, pills, and rocks anymore..

No more jail. No more hurting.

At my undergrad college we say to our classmates "shake the foundations" I say it to you, kill em dead with your success. Best wishes and prayers for you on the path.

Thanks, man.

What does the quote mean? I googled it.

Basically as a black person...you are going to shake the world's comfortable view that you are subpar and incapable. You will do it with your energy, effort, and eventual successes.

oh, that's so cool!! I worked in the automotive sector as a technician too, I worked in the ecu test & repair lab though, it was always fun to fight the mechanics lmao "is not an electrical problem!!, your coil is damaged!!"

and there's nothing better than that feeling of finally repairing something, is just so satisfying, it can make you feel whole.

Thanks,

I'm looking forward to experiencing what you said 😏

That's awesome.

There's a good business in auto body work.

Pro tip: fair quotes, honest communication, job well done on delivery pay dividends in that business (well, that's true in most cases, but people and their cars takes on a personal connection).

There's a place by me that is always busy--doesnt say much for the driving habits in the area, but when their name comes up in conversation there is a lot of head nods on it "being the place to take your vehicle".
