@rockyroadicecream No denying that women have it hard, but assholes need to put in there place regardless of sex. Men get objectified too, but alas it's a different story for men. At least MEN age better HA. I'll be a 50-something and still look fabulous while women will have to work harder to maintain their image. This is why Intelligence and Personality first because time does shitty things to humans.

Posted by GetMistedLol! Good analogy.Posted by truecapIf one presents themselves as a waitress/waiter, they will get treated like one.
If one presents themself as a sex object, they will get treated like one.
Who's the blame for that? The one choosing to represent sex, not the one responding to sex
So when I tell you to go get my food I ordered 15 minutes ago, you best damn get in there and get me my food. You're here to serve me.. Why haven't you brought me lemon for my water yet? You think you can move a little faster? I may be an asshole, but your job is to wait on me. That means I can treat you how ever I damn well please. Bring some ranch too.
Who's to blame for the above?
The one choosing to serve? Or the one wanting to be served?click to expand

It is their job, though. And I'm sure they deal with a lot of that kind of treatment. If they don't like it, then they can change jobs. Just like the girl portraying herself as a sex object can choose to portray herself as someone respectable.
I'm apart of an online community that meets every so often for meet and greets (occasional parties). A community full of folks not ashamed of their sexuality. So.. although I have photos of myself doing unspeakable things, I still find it disrespectful for someone to message me telling me they want their ass full of my BWC.
Understanding your sexuality and what you enjoy doing with it doesn't make you dis respectable.

Posted by Astrobynwhen was the last time you saw a lynch mob?
I think this goes with the argument that, there are some people who believe that we should live in a progressive type of society, where everyone is equal and we respect each other our differences, and this is what's right and we need to hold everyone to those standards.
Women aren't objects, children aren't bullied, and everyone can use whatever gender bathroom they choose.
I just don't' think it will ever be realistic, and it will always be nothing but an illusion. Because these things go against our baser instincts. And each individual takes responsibility for their safety, health and happiness for themselves. I don't really care who and what you blame shit on, at the end of the day it happens to you, so you and only you are left to deal with the consequences of whatever happened to you.

Posted by GetMistedMy original comment was about image. You're the one who changed /compared it to occupation
@truecap
I guess my issue with what you're saying.. is that you're giving power to the patron to control the profession of others.
If you don't like being treated like a waitress/waiter, change your job.
If you don't like being treated like a nurse, change your job.
If you don't like being treated like a stripper/model, change your job.
If we let patrons determine how someone should do their job, or be treated at their job.. we wouldn't have any waitresses or nurses.

Who cares!?!??
Live and let live
Women need to learn the ramifications of their actions. Sometimes it's unwarranted, others.. Well they ask for it.
It's like posting s pic of a delicious meal and someone says they'd love to eat it, how can they be mad?
Posted by DonnaElvira77Oh honey, do yourself a BIG favor and just stop talking.
Everytime someone sees a girl have fun or be happy men or boring women or bitter people just act like asses
Question : Is she genuinely having fun?? If the answer is yes ...leave her be.
Question : Is she interested in what she is doing? If the answer is yes ...leave her be.
Not all women are interested in the same things as you. Not all people see things the way you do. It's instagram it's not Cambridge. She is not going to post her PHD there. And I guarantee people would say it was for attention if she did.click to expand

Basically, only they can "objectify" themselves. They just don't want men to do it.

So this huge topic was fired up elsewhere about Instagram "models." (Note, I am fully aware that some get paid and have made a lucrative "career" out of doing so, and good for them. But this is generally speaking and encompassing everyone who does this, regardless of actual purpose, whether it be attention whoring or legitimately making money.)
Chick posts a screencap of a guy saying some inappropriate things about her, objectifying her like whoa. "Oh look at your boobs, they're so great, ready to pop out of that bikini, etc" You can practically see the drool in his texts. She responds with a pic of his own female family members. Apparently this is her tactic any time a guy does this shit. It's hilarious and hopefully makes him think about wtf he's doing. Would you talk to your mom/sister/niece this way? Would you want someone else to? No? So what makes THIS okay?
I take a look at the account of the woman in question, and she's a "model." Aka, posing in really skimpy clothes, ass and boob shots galore.
It made me stop and wonder where the fuck she really stands? This woman isn't "empowered" as she's posting images, very much like the ones we see in mainstream media, that objectify women. Boobs, ass, thongs, bras, etc.
So... she's upset he's objectifying her, yet she's objectifying herself JUST like society and media portrays women. ..does she realize what a contradiction this is?
This isn't about victim blaming or saying she deserves it. It's how she's buying into the same garbage she seems to be against, and this is a trend that works against women and the actual feminist movement (we're not talking asinine third wave here that's a total joke).
Things got heated in the comments of this post, but it's disturbing how many women just cannot seem to fathom this issue. They hide it under the guise of "empowerment" (it's not), and how she should be able to do whatever she want and not get negative attention (which, to an extent, is true), but what the hell? How can you sit there and say you don't approve of men objectifying women and then turn right around and objectify yourself?
This shit is why I get irritated when people bash the concept of feminism and what it's about. I had some silly twat go on about third wave feminism and how it's about creating a "safe space" blah blah.
...third wave feminism is also created by social justice morons who don't have very many working braincells and is also a movement headed by privileged white men who have no idea what it's like to be a woman. It's totally damaging to the women's movement as a whole.
But this bullshit of seeking validation and attention in the form of selfie whoring and "modelling" on Instagram is getting fucking ridiculous and should be seen with sadness because that

Posted by truecap I didn't victimize anyone.Because their comments come from conditioning that IT'S OKAY TO VIEW WOMEN AS SEX OBJECTS.
Asking men not to comment on sexual pictures is like asking a bear not to shit in the woods. So it surprises me that she put it out there, then gets upset when someone comments. But really, come on, she put it out there because she WANTED to have men look at her that way and she WANTED men to complement her. So some got crude, in their twisted way, it is a complement. They went about it the wrong way, but she can't say she didn't expect it.
Would you put candy in front of a child and not expect them to reach for it?
Would you put a car in front of a dog and not expect them to pee on the tires?
Would you put food in front of a starving man and not expect him to wolf it down?
Use logic. Every action gets a reaction. Just just got upset because it's not the reaction she wanted.
I'm all for someone doing what they want and feel comfortable with and if they are expressing their sexuality then so be it. However, there are consequences sometimes and in this case that consequence was ugly comments from men. Why get upset? Why not just ignore and keep on posting?
