R-E-S-P-E-C-T: Cant We ALL Just Get Along??

I guess not.

I am bored to tears at work and just took the last hour or so reading various posts. I have noticed some very constructive conversations. I have also noticed some pretty ugly conversations taking place. I underaand that sometimes certain topics can get pretty heated and controversial. Sometimes words are misconstrued, which is very easy to do on cpu. But i have read people litterally dragging other people through the mud. Bringing up people's personal business taking cheap shots. All in the name to make a point.

I have to give a shot out to DYR. From what I have read, he seems to discuss some pretty controversial and sensitive topics very logically and objectively. There is a way of making a point without calling someone out their name and cursing them out as though they have stollen something from you.

What's up with that?

It's not about the heat being too strong. I just feel that there has to be a better way to communicate and to make a point that does not include bashing someone's elses character. I'm just saying...

translation your being stupid, Or your saying something insane. Its an Ulster Scots dialect D.A. and I have been talking the lingo of northern Ireland some Welsh some american slang and even a bit of ebonics.

Okay well I understand that. I do not see how I am being "stupid". I think it is stupid for a person to not be able to effectively communicate and articulate their point of view without having to slander someone's else character and be nasty. How limited is that.

Well sometimes people's stupidity is really frustrating. :/

That's my only defense for people being assholes...the rest are just unhappy and want everyone else to be unhappy too.
I guess it depends on their intentions really.

For everybody to get along means everybody has to be accepting of all others and everythign they bring with them ... to make comment that you think everybody (((((((((((((should)))))))))))) communicate within your expectations of what you deem appropriate is actually being at opposition with anther by choice and not getting along.

Yes, Dyr is ... he is also bi-polar and apt to lash out at someone at any given time for no just cause.

You just haven't experienced it yet .... you will if you stick around long enough.

But, we know this about him and so accept it. Even the ones to whom he attacks lets it roll off their backs because they know this .... that is what you call getting along.
