Should you have standards in choosing a partner?

Ask yourself if you're willing to accept that they don't meet those standards and if the answer is yes then give them a shot. If the answer is no then you should probably pass them up, when a partner in a relationship starts to devote time to 'fix up' their s.o. it creates tension and most likely resentment in the relationship.
Thank you.

Depends on what's more important to you.

You'll come across people who'll meet all your standards n check all your lists but you may still not love that person. I mean you may not feel any passion or chemistry. But you can make it work in the long run coz you may fall in love eventually.

N then you'll meet someone who won't meet your standards yet you'll fall in love. In the initial phases, you'd love them be what might n be more accepting of the things you usually don't approve of. But when a relationship takes any blow down the line, you'd be searching for reasons to let go n then the things which you thought you could ignore, suddenly would become something you think you can't handle.

Ok then. What you're saying is just go for that girl who qualifies all your standards even though you dont have feelings for her? Am I getting it right?

No. I didn't say that. I only explained how either choice could go wrong or right. I just gave a perception different from this popular opinion which says go for the person you love. You should go for what you think would work for you.

I honestly don't know anymore. I've dated bums, upper class, rich, poor, classy, classless, sophisticated, and the loud mouths... I'm more comfortable with you if I can be a lady (in all sense of the word) and you be a gentleman.

The point I'm trying to make is... I'm still single ?

Yes you should have standards but some want ALL OF THEM on their list and this is impossible (just like being perfect) but... if they reach most of the list requirements then that should be amicable.
