It seems having a good voice isn't a requirement to be a singer anymore. You just have to be easy on the eyes.

The mic quality wouldn't change the actual sound of your voice that much. I don't know if you've ever recorded yourself before, but your voice always sounds different recorded, than the way you hear it through your own ears. Its quite a shock the first couple of times.

if there is no difference in mics it would make sense to just buy a cheap piece of shit instead of buying a quality mic to record shit..

audio quality =/= basic sound of your voice

So get a good mic from somewhere/someone, and then do it again.
