Tips for a great nap

Effective Tips for Planning a Great Nap

To have a restorative nap, find a quiet, dark place and limit it to 20 to 30 minutes. Avoid caffeine before napping and try to nap early in the afternoon. Proper timing and environment can improve alertness and mood after waking. Short naps prevent sleep inertia and boost energy for the rest of your day.

I have a very specific nap routine.

-I make a cup of hot tea like pomegranate to bring to bed.

-I change into comfy clothes that feel soft.

-I make sure my bed is made and the room is tidy.

-I dim down all the lights in the house except for a distant low light.

-If it’s late afternoon then I keep the blinds and curtains slightly drawn to allow small amounts of light in, as this can force you to want to keep your eyes shut.

-I lay down and I set an alarm to nap that includes on average how much time I need to think before sleep plus how long I want to nap. (1 hour 32 mins for me).

-I mentally tell myself that if I win the mental battle that I get more sleep and my Pisces moon thoughts lose...

-I love winning so I fall asleep.
