In my field of work, people in my position are pretty inaccessible. You have to go through several middlemen before communicating with me.

With that said, there was a particular person whose work I was so impressed with, that I offered to meet with him in person to discuss his work and possibly represent him.

He arrives to the business meeting/interview 30 minutes late, with a half-opened button-down shirt(think bootleg Rico Suave), and his girlfriend. He never explained what the reason for her presence there was. But, he did mention that she did not speak English, and it'd be courteous of me to conduct the meeting in her language, so she wouldn't feel uncomfortable.

Any guesses with what his sign is?

I experience this shit all the time.

They are late or cancel on me after I'm waiting on their ass for 20/30mins. They take calls during our meeting. Or they take forever to get back to emails and calls but expect everything they want to be done RIGHT NOW.

Loaded developers who think their time is worth more than anybody else's. Plus most of them are middle eastern so theres another layer of sexism built in.

To be fair, there's some chill ones as well...

Just assholes are assholes I guess.

"True Cap fashion"...Not sure what you're alluding to there, "goat", but I'm the sole owner of a company now and yes, I could've sent one of my employees to meet with him, but I didn't.

The government seal on the computer screen as I sat at my desk with my shitty computer, showing people that I was having yogurt for lunch...because we'd started a "Healthy Eating" thread. And yes...to show that I was exactly who I said I was(a woman who worked for the government-retired now), because there were a lot of shady people on here lying incessantly about who they were.

I never understood the dress to impress crap if I can do the job blindfolded. Attitude, punctuation, skills and training? Fine, I get it. It makes sense.

His shirt isn't buttoned all the way? 😕

Given his attitude was strictly entitlement issues due to experience, If he did not have that, would he have gotten the job?
I'm sure the @OP will answer but there were other levels - bringing a girlfriend, being late, the dress, the attitude and expectations that they were going to translate for the third unwelcomed party? LOL

yes, besides all that he most likely would have gotten the job because she already knew he was good at what he does - he just lives in some sort of twisted reality show - wait, they're all twisted lol

I understand that was all foolish of him. Nonetheless, these jobs get sooo ridiculous about dress code and petty shit it boggles my mind. They want a got damn robot not an employee.

Adidas? Its 2017, so you don't deserve a job wearing those.

What—!!! No cover letter—!!! Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

yes - that wheel is turning way too slowly

I think the guys in power suits don't want it to change because who would anyone look up too then

I'm sure.

We should be looking up to employers who do and did their jobs. I could put on a suit and kill people for a living, but that doesn't make me a professional hit man. It just makes me a hit man. Now if I have the qualified specifications to prove that I'm a professional, who gives fuck about a suit?

They'll give jobs to prospect employees who look professional, but can't execute the job.

yes - ha - it is the reality of this world - but it's not funny - sometimes I don't understand how we have accomplished all that we have in this society

I would look up to them if they did their job well but they don't - at least where I work right now - I'm almost at the end of my "working" life and I've seen enough - too much ... I want out so bad but I still have to play the game for a little while longer. I equate it to being a gerbil on the wheel. A slave to the man.

the true test of a man's character is to watch what he does when no one is looking - most professionals don't brag that they are professionals because that's not what it's all about

He seems cool. I like him. ? You on the other hand... cold, rigid, lady tyranny... ? You sound so much like a Cap - in a negative context (or at least someone heavy on Cap placements).

If part of the job is meeting with clients then how a person is dressed and presents themselves is very important.
