No, but I think everywhere is a potential dating site/place
I second that. Meeting a person you're compatible with can happen anywhere whether you actively go looking or not.

I was travelling to Albany, NY 2 years ago via train. It was a 7 hour train and the trained stopped at all these small cities. Passengers came on and some left. I met some really great people, both males and females. If I was more flexible a person and considered LDR, there were potentials on the train.

Dude... same way DXP becomes a hook-up place. Wherever the opposite sexes have the capability to communicate (read: flirt) with each other, it's bound to happen. It does not hurt that you know you already share something in common if you're in a special interest site.
Maybe I am just weird. I do loaded the app just to play lol. That's still the intention .

Indeed! I love meeting new people (that look proper). You can learn so much. One dude made documentaries in rainforests. He showed me his videos and shared his experiences. Pretty neat. Ironically, his next shooting destination was Borneo island, where I've lived for 3 years in my childhood. So, I tol dhim about that and what to expect.

Your average looking, getting fat, pretty lazy, and love video games?

Omg me too! We have so much in common! Let's hook up and play different games in different rooms and hardly look at each other.

Actually that sounds crazy enough to work.
Lmao, I bet it could.

It's nothing new, m'dear.

My friend has been with his girlfriend of like 6 years and they met on a game app on Myspace.
That is hilarious and cool. World is changing quickly.

haha it is.

However, it's not entirely too happy, unfortunately. He's trapped with her and she's a bit of a mooch. I told him to run 6 years ago haha. I wouldn't blame that on the way that they met though. He just has terrible taste in women and his life choices aren't always the best, sadly. :/

But yeah, it's not all that unusual and it's been going on much longer than you realize- meeting a potential partner via online games.

Here and there. He's on my Facebook. He felt so connected to me for the 2 hours we chatted on the train that when my destination came, he came to see me out the platform. He had tears in his eyes and wanted a hug. I don't normally hug strangers, but since he asked I gave him a hug and he hugged me really tight! I think he's a scorpio from what I remember. I'll have to go back and check.

I feel like dropping the bomb in here about ine of my relationships, but it's probably too private to discuss.

And imo, yes you can fall in love/get attached/enamored with a persin before actually seeing their face.

It happens through conversation. Also, many gamers use voice programs to communicate.
Please share! No judgments.

I guess I just haven't experienced that, so to me it doesn't seem possible. Like its more of the idea or someone instead of the actual chemistry.

Readig someones post is not flirting if you read a book or newspaper or leaflet are you flirting? what planet are you on, talking to people is not flirting iblooked at a tree on the way home from work does that mean i fancy a tree, you lot are morons
But giving someone your number, asking them to get a drink and trying to find out their relationship status = possibly trying to date.

The one keeps asking me to get drinks and the other made it clear it was for dating purposes. *shrug*

When I played MMOs, I noticed lots of couples, too. My favs were Perfect World and Secret of the Solstice. I know in Secret of the Solstice you could get 'married' to other players in the game, so that was a big one for relationships. I can't remember if I ever got married...what a good wife I am, if I did. Haha. Anyway, not sure how serious all of those relationships were, but I guess people enjoyed them, either way.

I couldn't pick up my life and move, i did a cross country move once with my ex fiance and got burned bad.. sooo i was skittish of doing something like that again. Granted this was years ago.. he's a good guy, we kept in touch for a long time after but we both decided it was better to end it since i was not ready to move.

In games you have this group of seperate poeople that play together under a main banner.. or guild name. You have your character name.. but most games have a feature to create a guild, usually you have to have a few people to form it.. its bascially just a tag you wear with your name... you do things together to kill things, build things.. etc etc.

I hope that helps explain lol

In computer and video gaming, a clan, guild or faction is an organized group of players that regularly play together in particular (or various) multiplayer games.[1] These games range from groups of a few friends to 4000-person organizations, with a broad range of structures, goals and members. The lifespan of a clan also varies considerably, from a few weeks to over a decade. Numerous clans exist for nearly every online game available today, notably in first-person shooters, massively multiplayer games, role-playing video games, and strategy games. There are also meta-groups that span a wide variety of games.

Some people might say[who?] that a "clan" or "guild" becomes like a family, and that all opinions and decisions represent each single member in the "clan" or "guild".[citation needed] Clans also tend to have a "try outs" initiation system established to weed out those who might not share common interest. A variety of methodical initiations are user-generated challenges ranging from jump courses, in-game achievement hunting.

Anyway, people

As long as it's the Internet, it matters now whether you are an anonym registered on Ashley Madison, are scrolling through OkCupid matches, or running around a pixel world as a Night Elf.

It's all same shit.

It's no more or less weird, than making friends through dxpnet. And yes, I have had my share of enamored tales that never went anywhere beyond computer screen, as I was fairly young back then.

I will say though that I met the man I love to this day behind a gaming console, and I had no means of aeeing him for awhile, we just connected through our personalities and conversation.

It just so happens that we decided to take it aeriously once upon a time. This story however is not yet over.

Oh and aoeaking of dxp, as much of an asylum as we are, I have met a few lovely people on here who have become very good and caring friends. It's the age of Internet out there. Connecting is made easy.
That is pretty cool. 🙂

What is a guild?
A collecrion of people (usually friends) who band under one community and game together. If not game specific, it's known as a gaming community. Sometimes it includes real life (local) friends playing table games, cards, and other similar things as well.
