Some people intentionally use informal language or typos to appear casual, relaxed, or to connect more easily. It can also be a way to show familiarity or hide nervousness. However, it often reflects laziness or a desire to seem less serious, especially after establishing a relationship. Understanding the context helps interpret their texting style.

At the beginning when they’re getting to know me they act well educated and smart and text me like decent human beings.
Once we get to know each other they start acting like they didn’t go to school and text like teenagers. For example, they will write
“H r U?” Instead of how are you. Or “k” instead of okay or even go as far as misspelling words on purpose. Like saying gud instead of good.
Believe me, it has happened to me often with guys and I don’t get it. I don’t do that.
Do they assume I’ll be impressed or are they lazy? There’s nothing wrong with using proper grammar and I prefer it that way. I’m an adult, not a child.
Why do people do this?? I’m just curious because I don’t see what’s the point of acting like you can’t write properly
