Why do some people use bad grammar or typos when texting? What’s the point?

So I’ve noticed something, especially with guys.

At the beginning when they’re getting to know me they act well educated and smart and text me like decent human beings.

Once we get to know each other they start acting like they didn’t go to school and text like teenagers. For example, they will write

“H r U?” Instead of how are you. Or “k” instead of okay or even go as far as misspelling words on purpose. Like saying gud instead of good.

Believe me, it has happened to me often with guys and I don’t get it. I don’t do that.

Do they assume I’ll be impressed or are they lazy? There’s nothing wrong with using proper grammar and I prefer it that way. I’m an adult, not a child.

Why do people do this?? I’m just curious because I don’t see what’s the point of acting like you can’t write properly

Cuz life is too fucking short.

You know they can type, they shown it in the beginning so you don't think they are total uneducated retards. It's ok to fall into a typing comfort zone after a while, like with other things in a relationship.

They are not writing college essays. It's just information.

I do it out of habit, it's just faster for me to type this way cause I got used to it, like not spelling out all the vowels.

What's wrong with using K instead of using it in a 4 letter word? In real life I say K instead of saying okay. I don't even say the word situation in real life. I say sichation. That's how I actually talk.but yeah I understand the frustration of some people typing "H R U" instead of typing the whole thing. That's being lazy. Believe it or not we even got some users here that type something similar. Most here abbreviate words instead of typing it all out. That's frustrating to me but I don't say nothing when they does that. That's call being lazy.

1-it can be funny/quirky

2-it can create familiarity over shared misspellings. It's a form of bonding

3-texting should not be the whole relationship. If you start fixating on that, the time might be up KWYJ?

I struggle a bit with English speakers who do not use commas when writing.

Laziness, convenience.. who knows. It all spills over to how someone actually communicates in person.

"Bet"

"I'm tryna see you tonight"

"U be on BS"

Phrases like that may indicate an informal approach since you spend all day being formal at work. Or at least you're supposed to.
