I honestly don’t see how this isn’t treacherous to the left.

You’d think it would with all this #livesmatter stuff going on.

Literally screaming and protesting about babies being separated from their mothers at the border and dying but don’t give a fuck about one growing inside them.

I’m just being devils advocate here. Don’t take this as my own POV

The life of the mother matters more than a fetus.

My POV

I can’t dispute that.

What if there’s a chance though? According to VA law that’s being debated the mother can abort while she’s dilating. Baby and mother alive.

The Constitution only guarantees rights to "humans" and the Court has determined that embryos or fetuses have no particular rights, that is, until they have reached "personhood." The question then because "when is a fetus a person?" Courts and legislative bodies have struggled with the exact moment a fetus becomes human, but most of the answer relies on when the fetus can live outside the mother's womb. Until that time, fetuses do not have human rights.

It's treacherous to both sides. Both sides have s hand in the hypocritical cookie jar when it comes to abortion, but politicians use it as a wedge issue, nothing more.

Nah man. It’s more than that.

A foundation is being laid and it’s a dangerous one. Especially in NY and VA. Other states are moving on this as well.

And how does it affect your life?

And like I said........this isn’t MY POV.

It could potentially affect millions of men’s lives

Millions?

Hyperbolic much?

Nah, once laws like this go into effect it’s permanent. Say 50k/year over the next 50 years and well......

And it doesn't effect the women's life? Oh wait the man is always more important, right.

I'm sure if a women has to abort her child her partner will have to deal with that too. But if it's an unfortunate reality and he's not an asshat I'm sure he'd be supportive.

And if he's not involved than why would he care anyway.

If the partners have previously discussed these issues like adults, there wouldn't be a conflict.

Agreed but I know couples who have experienced this, and I don't know if they ever talked about it beforehand. But what I do know is that the man never once said "but what about me!" It was a very tragic, part of their lives that they had to endure together, but he was always supportive.

Meanwhile...

The US ranks 20th amongst wealthy, 1st world nations for infant mortality.

If you call yourself pro life and don't spend an equal amount of time being outraged about that, or an equal amount of time lobbying to fix the child welfare system in this country so as not to be a more or less direct pipeline to the prison system...

Fuck you. You aren't pro life. You're just interested in keeping control of women. You should perform a late term abortion on yourself.

Or if you support this current administrations approach on immigration.

In the meantime.....

https://bigleaguepolitics.com/sanctity-of-caterpillars-virginia-legislator-who-pushed-infanticide-law-also-filed-bill-to-save-bugs/

"H.B. 2495 would protect the lives of gypsy moths, cankerworms, and other insects that may carry diseases harmful to humans, by preventing pest control spraying for them between the months of March and August."

Gypsy moths? This nutjob introduced this bill the same day she introduced the Virginia bill that got voted on.

This is what happens when gypsy moths go unchecked:

Follow the money:

https://thenationalsentinel.com/2019/01/31/now-it-makes-sense-infanticide-va-gov-northam-accepted-nearly-2-million-from-planned-parenthood/

"True to her word, Planned Parenthood poured $ 1.99 million into Northam’s campaign, according to The Virginia Public Access Project, after praising the children’s doctor for taking “bold actions” to support abortion."

So, what portion of that came out of Federal funds?

Guess money laundering isn't a crime as long as it's for the "right people".

When the heart has started beating I already view the fetus as human being...so late-term abortion is like murder for me. It's different if abortion is done in the beginning of pregnancy. Before the heart beats, it's just growing lump of cells with no soul.

I don't agree. Except, if the pregnancy is life-threatening to the mother, or the baby is bound to be born with terrible abnormality that would make all of his/her life depend on others / medical treatment.

Heart starts beating a few weeks in when 99% of women wouldn’t even know they’re pregnant as they haven’t even missed a period.

We can use condom or other means of contracepcy if we don't want a baby. Always cum outside regardless of the contracepcy used.

I know mistakes are bound to be made, like people get too excited and have unprotected sex, accidentally (or impulsively) came inside, etc. But it's not like condom and pregnancy test kit are hard, or even expensive, to obtain. My country is a conservative developing nation and I can get them at the closest convenient stores here. I doubt it's hard in liberal, developed nations. You can already test after 7 days, then of course, test again after 3 or 4 days to be sure.

Imo people should be taking pregnancy more seriously since it involves many lives—the baby, the mother, the father, both their families. Shouldn't wait around until period is missed.

Condoms break.

Birth control isn’t 100

You can still get pregnant from pull out method.

You should follow your own advice and take it more seriously.
