I thought I'd zap to the next station but nop, only ten seconds and I wanted to know what it is.
ok, I don't care if they had a message or not. Or what it would be. That's another discussion. Neither I'm a fan of Sean Penn. This may be the first movie of his I watched. Also for my PiscesMoon it is a sin to have space for cruelty shown in details. It also is mainstream art of Libra Kind (to be compared with Gemini kind). You see how it has 93% positive feedback on rotten tomatoes.
I just found it interesting how Libra Susan Sarandon had to master their equilibrium-job when sister Helen and Mr. Delacroix were speaking at his door. I could not have the same delivery.
The other point I liked was the text try to depict why a Sister think the man is worth of her companion. I mean her understanding of what revolution/reform Jesus did aim, what is the man to do amd why that is good for everyone.
I didn't know anything about this movie before. It always work well for me to ignore movies for years and once I ran into them I'm the happiest one on the earth.
example negative critics: Robbins, who also wrote the script, is no Truman Capote, let alone a Victor Hugo, and his film trips up constantly on indecisiveness about what it is he's trying to say.

example positive crirics: Tim Robbins's balanced yet uncompromising approach refuses to judge any of the characters, including the killer (superlatively played by Sean Penn), instead giving each a fair chance to present their case with dignity and respect.
